With regards to the CGI tank scene... Transformers has shwon us that you can make an entire movie with CGI robots and not be able to pinpoint a single place where it was obviously CGI. So, hopefully those Iron Man shots will be brought up to the mark.

Every other shot in the trailer shows that the CGI is already at this level. But the last shot of the trailer stands out because it is absolutely nothing like the rest. It looks like absolutely everything in the shot was CGI, at which point it isn't a special effect, but a full-blown cartoon.

It is so different from the rest of the spot I almost think it was created solely for marketing and won't appear in the actual movie.

^ That's possible. In fact, in the last scene, the movement was more CGI than the actual look of the scene.

Bellicheat, Bellicheat. What ya gonna do what ya gonna do when they come for you ? :wow: Cheaters never prosper, and he ran off the field with 1 second left. GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 Mannings = back to back Super Bowls. Pats 18-1. Giants 13-6. Pats = no Super Bowl ring. Giants = Super Bowl ring.

I guess Bill Belicheat didn't get a chance to tape the Giants practices during the week. That guy is classless.

As for the tv spot. I found it to be cool. Gave it an 8/10.

Very cool spot. :im:

You hear that Mirko ? That's the sound of a few dozen Marvel fanboys steaming towards your post to tell you why that result is invalid and irrelevant. :woot:

Oh yeah, I liked the spot a lot myself, but USA Today usually does pretty good samples (studies).

Actually I could pinpoint where much of it looked obviously CGI.

But in any case, the trailer was ****ing cool. I thought it was going to nothing new but wow, just wow.

I'll agree that the shot at the end looked a bit fake, but regardless of that, it still looked bloody good.

It does in a 30 second spot but once we sit down to watch a 2 hour movie our eyes and brain become adjusted to the F/X. It's easy to pick it apart but honestly looking at the stills above and the trailer it still looks awesome to me.

The armor looks perfect..the above shots once again confirm it. Couldn't look better :im:

My new Desktop wallpaper. God, the Movie is going to rock. :D

I got to say if people thought that last scene looked like a video game, I'd like to play some of the games they've been playing. Also not knowing the full context on the scene it's a little hard to judge it too hard, sometimes you got to take things for how they are until you see the final product.

I thought it was a solid spot. RDJ looks very comfortable in the role of Tony Stark, and the armor looks like it poped right off a page of the comic book.

Lol, have any of you guys ever actually sat down and taken a look at some game's cutscenes? This isn't the days of Atari and Pong, graphics have gone a long way in video gaming.

You don't need context when judging special effects.

On another note, anyone know when the next theatrical trailer will be playing for the movie? I'd imagine within the next few weeks we should be expecting one.

I would guess late Feb or March for the next trailer. Regarding the cut scenes I've played all the top games out there and while they look great from a the perspective of a video game...they look nothing even close to the detail and quality of this 100+ million dollar movie. Not even close. You might think so but put them side by side and it's night and day.

You know, I can't wait till Fox loses it's Fantastic Four rights and Marvel delivers us a Dr. Doom in all his armored glory. I'm sure he'd look just as awesome as Iron Man.

Fox will never lose the FF rights unless they breach the contract somehow. They'll make a Silver Surfer film or FF3 before the rights expire.

Any idea with what movie?

I'm not doubting that. But when put in a scale based on videogames/reality, it'd be a lot closer to the former. Hence why people are saying as such.
