I don't know about you guys, but even at the level the CGI is at know, I'd be completely enthralled seeing it at the IMAX and doubt I'd even be bothered by it.

Doesn't really make sense, but it always looks better on the big screen to me.

Yeah they are it has been known for awhile, you probably missed it in the madness back then.

HUH?? ILM is doing the SFX on Iron Man.

Get out! No way! How much are they doing?

Personally, the CGI at the end looked great to me, so I don't see what all the hub-bub is about. If they can make it look better I'm all for it. Either way, there is only so real a man in flying armor is going to look.

I think the CGI in the film will look excellent. I believe ILM will do a fantastic job.

Rewatching the tv spot looks like Stark crashes back into his own Shelby Cobra. You can see it with that shot of the mark 2.

It looks like theres going to be alot of funny moments with perfecting the suit.

The last 2 shots in the spot were done by The Orphanage ,they are still a work in progress and have been sped up for the spot

The super bowl spot made me want to see this movie even more. Did anyone make any gifs from it

This isn't ILM people ($$$$$), so expect CGI on about the same level as the Spider-man movies (good, great in some spots, not so good in others).
The irony... :funny:

More importantly, this is obviously going to be a comicbook fantasy film in the same vein as Superman and Spider-man. Yes, the action more than likely will get cartoony. But then, what kind of film were you expecting?
That's setting the film a bit low, don't you think? The "So-and-so is only this type of flick, so don't expect much" mentality is a detriment to all genres of filmmaking. You make the best flick you can possibly make, and try to overcome the bar set by your peers.

I was impress with the TV spot. I thought it was a lot better than the theatrical trailer tied to "Cloverfield".

The new Super Bowl spot is fantastic, and makes me even more excited about the movie.

Why you gotta hate??

This trailer was awesome, no need to compare it to other trailers.

No, I'm not hating. I think you miss-interpret what I'm saying. I'm sayingthe IM TV spot was even better than the IM trailer that was tied to "Cloverfield"

I am more pump for this film now.

ILM worked on this? No wonder the CGI is iffy... Revenge of the Sith had garbage graphics... people complained about the prequels looking like toons... and Iron Man has some iffy effects from the trailer... look it can't be perfect... but the yellow mask with the red really makes it obvious with the way the character is shaded... not much you can do about that.... but if anything... it should be just Iron Man that is digital... in the tank scene... it was something straight out of Attack of the CLones... where everything was digital 100% including the setting and background (and it was obvious)... that is the wrong direction... that battle scene in Clones was not very impressive... if they go that direction the effects won't be very impressive here either...

I'm in complete agreement here. I don't get why in the world that entire shot had to be digital. At best, two shots (one of the tank and background, the other of IM) would have been superimposed against each other.

There was nothing there that warranted an all-digital scene. With Favreau constantly reiterating how much he has studied the proper use of cg in a film, I'm very surprised by this specific shot.

Its cheap... they don't have the money to blow up tanks... my question is if he is just testing his sh:t out... why the **** is he testing it on Mechanized Infantry... they don't have some old Soviet tanks they can use? That scene is just so out of place. Hopefully its a two minute scene ala danger room in X-3...

Does anyone have a downloadable link (.mov or .avi) to the commercial that's NOT in HD? My POS comp can't handle HD. :csad:

Thanks.

:im:

The Orphanage did the last two shot in the TV Spot, it wasn't ILM.

Here's some quotes from artists, from The Orphanage.

It doesn't help either that they sped up my animation for 2 of those shots =(

I guess it can't be helped since they try to squeeze so much in 30s.

Yeah they definitely increased the speed of the shot(s).

The Orphanage worked on the last two shots.
Sometimes the shots for the Super Bowl trailers are rushed out and will get more work done before the movie comes out.
I'm sure every shot it's going to looks great by the time the work is finished.

I don't know... I obviously am aware that SM-3 improved drastically from the teaser which was a rush job... but IM is only a few months away... the shots should be close to a done deal at this point... frankly you just don't have any flexibility with a scene like that. Its nit picking I know... but there is not much else to say at the moment.

They had plenty of tanks available during the Tony Stark kidnapping scene, didn't they?

The Trailer was fantastic. And there was no TDK trailer to take any of IM's thunder. Eli Manning did though. Hahaha.IM is looking good though.
