Iron Man: Rise of Technovore (Anime Film)

Hulk vs. was great as well, the best of the Lionsgate releases. I would love if Yost and Kyle were in charge of animation.

are you and I the only ones who thought this?

Um....looks pretty but why absolutely no dialog?

I hope teaming up with Madhouse or other Japanese animation studios for DTVs becomes a trend at Marvel. That animation is magnificent and exactly what I want to see in my comic adaptations.

I'm more concerned about the writing. I can get used to almost any type of animation if the writing is good. I can't say the same for the converse.

New trailer with voice work.

And an unboxing.

I didn't know they were using the Extremis/Bleeding Edge armor, that thing looks cool animated. Man, this reminds me so much of Cowboy Bebop or Ghost in the Shell in tone.

The animation reminds me of the old mangas particularly like macross plus. I was waiting for the Mangagagagagaga at the end. Looks cool I can't wait to check it out.

All the Lionsgate videos were directed at kids. The Ultimate Avengers could pass for the worst G.I.Joe episode ever made. Doctor Strange was like a throwback to the Ruby Spears cartoons. The Iron Man cartoon featuring the Mandarin was so mediocre it's no wonder they have to make a special Chinese edit of Iron Man 3.

I got a bit of a Macross Plus vibe myself.

I'll definitely watch this eventually but some of the voicework seems off.

Adrian Padsar (I hope I spelled his name right) isn't back as Iron Man and he was the best part of the anime.

Some of the other voices (at least in the trailer I saw) didn't seem to fit. Pepper especially.

Not saying it won't be good but voice-acting can make or break something like this.

Matt Mercer is doing Iron Man here and I like that a lot. Trailer looks good. I want to see this. Like that we got Punisher, War Machine, Black Widow, Nick Fury, and Hawkeye all in this.

Ok, just saw it. It's crap. I mean it's one of the worst things Marvel has done in other media. I really didn't like the animated Invincible Iron Man movie but this is much worse. At least with that one everything sorta made sense, even if it sucked. This movie is like it was written by someone who doesn't even really know how to write. It makes no sense and is just frustrating beyond words.

2/10

QFT.
The villain philosophical dialogues made no sense, The Punisher was here just for the sake of it, Pepper and Widow were like twin sisters and Rhodey has Wolverine healing ability. The story is ridiculous.

I don't think Iron Man's eccentricity fits rightly in with the self serious and brooding or boyishly naive stock personalities of Shounen Anime.

I have no idea why Marvel is still involved with this anime crap. Whatever happened to Lionsgate who helped them with Hulk Vs., Planet Hulk, Doctor Strange and Next Avengers? I liked those movies way more.

Anime can be way better than traditional western animation when done right, the styles are really unique and fluid. Unfortunately, a bad script is a bad script. Remember, this wasn't an adaptation, it was an original story.

I'm confuse by how you hate anime but like Lionsgate animation. In terms of style they're not very far apart. In fact I'd go so far to say that Lionsgate takes more inspiration from eastern animation than western.

Lionsgate Marvel animation isn't anime... it is really that simple. It might take inspiration, but it is not complete anime. However, I wouldn't agree on it taking more inspiration from anime than western. The most "anime" I've seen a Lionsgate movie be is Hulk vs. Wolverine, and even then that didn't really feel like an anime to me.

You won't ever catch me watching many anime shows or movies... not these days at least. I used to watch Dragonball(not Z) when I was younger. Studio Ghibli has some good ones... and even then there are only a few I can put up with.

I didn't say it was anime. But I don't see how you can deny the distinct eastern style in Lionsgate's animation.

Anyway, you'd have to tell me what exactly you hate about anime for me to understand where you're coming from.

How was Hulk Vs. Wolverine in any way Anime?

I never said that you said it was anime, just that it wasn't anime which is why I liked the movies. Also, I never denied the eastern influence, I agreed with that point... what I said was that aside from taking some inspiration from anime, the Lionsgate movies are not complete animes and I like them. It's like Avatar, who takes inspiration from anime, but is western animation.

You don't have to understand where I'm coming from, just know that I'm not a fan of anime.
