While I may be late responding to this news, is it really that big a deal? A lot of summer movies move up their release dates to Wednesday, always seems to work out in their favor.
Comic movie fans really need to remember the past, it's always the same with every movie, everyone's incredibly worried about the marketing if they aren't bombarded with it 6-8 months before the movie opens, when 6-8 weeks is when marketing usually starts to speed up. Always worried about the release date, always predicting $100 million opening's regardless of the character, just relax, things are looking good for the movie.
Plus the studio has already targeted it's scapegoat if the movie doesn't open well, GTA4. Watching Attack of the Show last night, one of the items on the crawl at the bottom was that GTA4 could impact the box office of Iron Man since it's being released so close, much like Halo 3 being released the same week as The Heartbreak Kid affected that movie's opening box office. Only difference this movie looks pretty cool, unlike the piece of crap The Heartbreak Kid looked like.
