I am a fan of spiderman in films, tv shows and games and stuff but never really followed the comic, and am waiting for the civil war tp, so I was wondering if you guys could help me out a little...I don't know much about the Iron Spider suit, except that I personally think it looks cool, so can someone give me a run down on how it enchances spidey's powers, and any new ones it might give him?

Well first off he had 3 retractable spider-like arms, night vision, he was able to glide similar to what Spider-Woman does.

Don't get too attached to it, since it's a memory already.:o

That makes one of you. It was created by Tony Stark... It has build in communications, Bullet proofing, glider wings, some sensors, a rebreather to let him breath underwater), and 4 extra mechanical arms... probably had more but that's what I remember, considering I'm trying to forget that this costume ever happened.

Well the Iron sult Begain in Amazing 529 and went bye bye in Amazing 535

to be fair, it's not a bad design at all. it's actually pretty cool. but not for spider-man. he's only got two costumes in my book.

I like the Scarlet Spider costume a lot, the all red tights with blue cut off.

One of the problem with the stupid Iron-Spidey suit was that it seemed to be able to do anything based on what the writer needed it to do.

Horrible flawed idea, along with anything Post "The Other." :down :o

Iron Spider Suit > All other suits

Seriously, the classic Red & Blue is not only ridiculous, but also extremely stale.

Progress, people. Shake things up.

You know I actually kind of miss it now that it's gone. It looked pretty cool. Though everything but the extendable Spider legs was very stupid and it didn't help that it was alos suffering the after effects for the horrible Other series where Peter gets those stupid stinger things (that has totally been forgotten thankfully).

Still though, the legs aspect was cool and the suit itself looked nice, it was the cirumstances that made it a sucky costume along with all the other stuff it was able to do.

Though it looked abd when drawn poorly and looked good when drawn well just liek any suit.

The suit mainly enabled Tony Stark to gather data on Spidey and his powers. It also enhanced Spidey's ability to get beat-up.

The success of the films would suggest there's still some mileage left in the old suit yet.

The only think I didn't care for design-wise were his gold ankle 'socks'. They could have done something more interesting with those.

Personally, I always felt that the anger over the suit was the fact of how it was presented, not the suit itself. I rather liked it, except for the fact that there was no spider on the back and just a dome..... and three extended arms kinda ruins the notion of spiders having 8 limbs.

Yeah, it was more of an Iron-Daddy-Long-Legs w/ only 3. Nice Gob avatar.

The Iron Spider suit always felt like a very 90's design, IMO. It always screamed 'foil cover' to me.:o

The Iron spidey suit was a sign to me that spider-man had sold out, and was now Tony starks *****/lackey.
