Ashton Kutchner has been seen at Marvel Studios w/Jon Favreau and Avi Arad as late as 2 days ago. Uh oh.

Just kidding. Did your heart skip a few beats. I'm bored sorry.

That wasnt funny at all

Actually, didn't any of you see "The Butterfly Effect"??
He's not that bad, just has that "Punk'd" and "That '70s Show" stigma to get over.

You now what, I was looking for a good pic of him with at least a goatee, and realized, he just doesn't have the right look.

The Butterfly Effect was a good movie, but so far it's the only thing he's done that was any good, IMHO.

Tony will be portrayed as a serious businessman and casting Asthon would undermine that. The general audience wouldn't buy it. They'd look up on the screen and see 'Kelso' and the film's credibility would go out the window.

Really think about the diredtor of the film and then realy think about who he would cast?

Well, this news can officially kill the Tom Cruise as Tony Stark rumor. THANK GOD! Paramount is still heavily involved as the distributor of the film.

Paramount has no say in the movie...it's all Marvel, so they could make a deal with Cruise, and probably get him at a discounted price, since he's looking for a steady gig, after this one fell thru.

Tom Cruise for Tony Stark, in light of the recent news!

I was thiking that Ed Quinn from Eureka would be a pretty good Tony Stark.

I was just about to suggest him also. His character on the show is extremely smart and rather suave too. He could easily portray both the playboy side and the uber smart business side of Stark. Also, I could't tell from the show, but IMDB has him listed at 6'4 so he's a big guy too (in case that matters to anyone)

Paramount has no say but their directors have 1st look deals on movies they distribute should Marvel wish to use them. Cruise has no such deal and he's too expensive any way. Favreau got Iron Man thanks to his work but also do to his affiliation with Paramount. Paramount had to choose whether they wanted to use him for John Carter or let him slide over to Marvel Studios. Leterrier did the same with Universal as the distributor on The Hulk. So when studios have these directors associated with them (even if they're only distributing) makes it much easier for Marvel to go after them. If Favreau was at Sony or Universal he probably wouldn't be directing Iron Man since Paramount had him and would have no incentive to see that happen.

About Ed Quinn.

His character in the show is clearly Tony Stark.

Is he from that show Eureka?

Yeah. He's in charge of the super science company that always causes problems. He's always at odds with the main character, but not really a bad guy. (just like Stark in Civil War)

ghost you know something you aint spilling come on spill already :(

Actually it's the completely lost I have no idea what's going on?

I am just curious with all the speculations, does anyone know out of all these actors suggested, who really have a shot in getting the role? Cruise? Farrel? Fehr? Dillon?

I was sure about Clive Owen untill I saw this GQ magazine. He's got the acting experience and I like the idea of someone a little older. No one's gonna buy a billionaire genius creating Iron Man suits at age 25 or even 30. He can drop the accent right?

Clive owen is cool and that picture makes me beileve he has the look

Owen definitely has the look, but he would have to work on the accent.

If he can overcome the accent, I think he would be perfect. Although, he's far from being the unkown, jon wanted to go with.

What's up with his skin? Looks like he got sunburned in the face at some point.
