Yeah, I love The Avengers, but aside from Captain America, most of the team consists of characters I never cared all that much about. Well, I like Iron Man a lot, but most of that is due to RDJ rather than his comic book counterpart.

But this... Superman, Batman, the Flash, Wonder Woman, GL, Aquaman, Cyborg, Martian Manhunter... I can't wait. Always been more of a DC guy. Always will be.

This somewhat for me too. I dont care for comics IM but the movie version is such a lovable character because of RDJ and his great supporting cast of Pepper, Happy and Rhodey.
I only really care for Cap and Bucky.

One big advantage is that all the film rights in DC are unified. Can you imagine a WB Justice League movie without Batman, because Fox had the rights?

Marvel has all they need for the Avengers though. Spider-Man and Wolverine ain't Avengers. They're "Bendisvengers".

Although it's a shame Marvel don't have the Fantastic Four, Dr Doom, Galactus etc.

Admittedly, I don't know much about Marvel, but I would have assumed that Spiderman and Wolverine remain the biggest names, globally.

On the one hand they don't look that much alike, on the other hand, Hollywood never cares about this so I for one am conditioned not to care too much about family resemblance when I'm watching movies or TV.

Plus, you're making all sorts of assumptions. Does Kryptonian and Human inheritance operate in the same manner? Was Lara Vor-Van actually faithful to her husband? Who are you to make these assumptions?

What the hell are you talking about? :funny: I said "did anyone else" think there was a resemblance between the actors - which means that I thought they did look somewhat similar to each other.

I'm not even going to touch that other nonsense about assumptions or secret affairs, because even if I didn't see a resemblance, there's no way you could have possibly gotten any of that from what I said.

EDIT: I also never said it was important to me that a resemblance exist between actors playing family, so a few of you are wrong about that as well. Please read my posts before responding to them.

I think they've both been over taken by Iron Man. In cinematic terms anyway. I get the feeling Rocket Raccoon might make a big jump into pop culture relevance soon too.

Avenger or not, I wholeheartedly believe having Spider-Man included in the franchise would make it even more of a moneymaker. But they obviously don't need him. Wolverine and the X-Men though... even though I have my issues with the Singerverse, I think X-Men is better as its own thing. Because it never made sense to me how humans in the X-Men comics had this massive hatred of mutants yet that bigotry apparently didn't extend to any other superpowered beings who obtained their abilities through different means. I mean, unless everyone in the Marvel universe is privy to every superhero's origin, then logic would tell you that a person who is bigoted against heroes who were born with their powers would have an issue with ANY superpowered being.

If WB/DC didn't have the rights to Batman they would make The Question movies, just like Marvel can make Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

The part about affairs was a joke :-)

Though on Smallville, Zor-El (Jor-El's cousin) and Lara had a thing.

I've always thought exactly the same thing lol.

Yeah. It's like...

(Wolverine walks into a room).

Humans:
DIE MUTANT SCUM!!! BOOOO!!!!

(Spider-Man walks in).

Humans: YAAAAY SPIDEY!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!

I would say that is inevitable, since currently almost nobody has ever heard of it.

A lot of people are excited for talking raccoon, it's like seeing a talking CGI animal in a movie is a big deal that has never been done before.

For me this shows that we're at or near peak-CBM/marvel hysteria. When a bubble is about to burst you hear strange stories.

The funny thing about Rocket is, when GOTG was announced, he was the one thing I was almost convinced WASN'T going to work. I don't know much about the comic, but most movies I've seen that feature CGI talking animals (The Golden Compass, for example) just didn't work, IMO. But, at least in the clips I've seen, Rocket seems awesome.

I'd say Cap and Hulk are knocking on that "A list" door. They're on the verge of Spidey-level popularity, if they aren't there already.

All signs of an impending Marvel apocalypse. But no worries, the scorched earth of the MCU immolation will simply clear the way for our true lords and saviors in 2016. It's in Revelations people!!!

You got that right! DC heroes for JL own Marvel's Avengers, said it.

Good point about RDJ making Iron Man the ****. Kinda like how Thor is still relevant because Loki is played by Tom Hiddleston because he too is the ****. But yea, DC all the way.

It's one of the things the movies don't do well to convey...Marvel humanity aren't afraid of mutants because of their powers...they are afraid of mutants because they are the next step in human evolution. Once mutants become the top species humans were afraid that they would be second or third class citizens.

Yeah but like he said there is no way for them to know whether someone like Spiderman is a mutant or not. And either way he did become a superior species to them.
