Is Anyone Tired Of These Horro Movies Of Today.

I think the problem is that horror movies are not dealing with the fears of the audience today. It's movies like X-Men and Batman Begins which are dealing with minorities, persecution and terrorism.
good point, man. Kevin, off to Hollywood with you!

amen! Karo syrup and Red Dye #5 does not make a scary movie.

No real gore/blood in the first Freddy or Halloween movie.....and they still rock.

What about the dead girl in the body bag or when Johnny Depp is eaten by the bed?

Evil Dead rocks and it is filled with blood.

Someone must have missed Tina getting butchered and Glen getting sucked down into his bed and then his blood flooding out.

I for one love all different types of Horror movies. I like the psychological thrillers like SAW. I love slashers like Friday the 13th. I love splatter especially from the 70's and 80's. Love the Universal classics. The ones that to me are boring, not in the least scary and downright ******ed are the Japanese ones where it's always a little kid whose all white except for the blackness around their eyes and they are ghosts. ie The Grudge, The Ring, and so on. There is a place for all of these horror movies and I'm loving horror movie season. I'm digging some of the remakes as well, because I thought the original Hills Have Eyes was slow and boring, but the remake cut to the chase and got right to the violence. Now, the remake of the Fog blew dog and the remake of When a Stranger Calls was nothing compared to the original. They can't all be gems.

Well, Johnny Depp inthe bed, lot of blood, same with body bag. But, you didn't see the slashing, cutting, etc. It lets our minds do a little work:cwink:

Actually you see the slash marks on Tina's stomach when she's being thrown around the room by Freddy.

A true tests of tricking people into actually thinking they saw the stuff happening is the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. People to this day swear that you see the meat hook go into the girl when Leatherface lifts her up on the meat hook. Fact is we never see the chainsaw actually touch anyone.

The Best Horror movies of resent releasing is more of an action thing. But Underworld is my favorite although it wasn't scary i just like Vampires, Werewolves and the old monster movies. I prefer to watch sci fi b beast or monster movies then some big screen blood fests.

I love the older horror movies that I grew up watching & love it when a new sequel (good or bad) is made to my favorite horror movie series of the past, but as for horror movies of today not all are good & not all are bad but as a horror fan in general I will watch the newer ones at least once & if I end up liking them then it doesn't matter when they came out.

I don't think it's pure horror these days that they're making. It's moreso a blend of horror and thriller genres now, but I mostly find it to be all about instant gratification. It's become too easy to pick out what's gonna happen now all the fun has been taken out.

Most of the movies you guys are complaining about aren't horror, they're slasher/explotation movies where in almost every scene you get a payoff, like what ord0g said, instant gratification. I personally enjoy these types of films, because they make me flinch and get queasy, and that is what I am looking for.

Gore porn :D
