Some movies grow on you. Some movies you actually watch enough times to be desensitized to the bad stuff and you only notice the good things.

Is Wolverine Origins the type of movie that you actually like more the 2nd or 3rd time? I havent seen it twice yet.

Yes, I liked it more the second time. I noticed more, I was prepared for certain scenes so i could observe them closely, i noticed more depth and substance than was apparent the first time (at an advance media screening).

it is weird x3 has way better and memorable scenes but wolverine is a better overall film but not by much

I think where Wolverine succeeds is that it has a narrow single plotline, it's just Wolverine's journey (while being manipulated by Stryker).

X3 had a wider scope, with the socio-political impact of the cure. While some didn't like the cure being added in as well as the Phoenix story, the two stories do dovetail fairly well (Magneto accuses Xavier of trying to give Jean the cure in the battle at the house, Jean sides with Magneto because she hates the idea of being mentally 'cured' of her power as much as he hates the idea of needles and cures). And the critics all loved the cure storyline giving the film a strong, debatable issue. It could have been handled in different (better?) ways though; to some people it all seems sandwiched together.

Thanks for proving how utterly silly you are.

Oh great, another inarticulate poster whose replies consist either of images or of 'meh'-type responses. When are you people going to learn to string together a sentence and master your own language?

Let's knock off the trolling, Illuminata.

If you don't like that other people enjoyed the movie, I suggest you get over it.

I have a feeling it'll be better once I see it again.

Yeah, it was cool and there was a lot of action but it was just an average summer film. I'm starting to worry that TDK and Watchmen have changed comic book films...and not for the better. I think everyone is now expecting films to be meaningful and epic and all that. Some of them should be and some of them can 'just' be action films.

I don't know...

Well it wasnt because of TDK that I thought this was going to be epic (up until the leaked version came out.) Once the leaked version came out and I read the reviews I knew it wasnt going to be what I wanted.

I thought it was gonig to be epic for: R Rating, Awesome trailer, 120 mins, Jackman going nuts and dedicating himself to the role again, a movie just about Wolverine.

But then: It was PG-13 and no brutal blood and guts like a Wolverine movie might really be, the trailer is awesome and represents and epic product.... yet the best parts were in the trailer, was more around 90 mins, Jackman worked out like crazy but for this?, and it was a movie about Wolverine, with other mutants there to sell some merchandise. When I started to get news iof this I really dumbed down my standards and when I saw it, it didnt rise above my lowered expectations.

Anyway, it feels like Ill get used to it once I see it again. I just remember in some scenes getting very sleepy because the action was always "on" and nothing significant happened that you can remember in the fights.

I liked it. It was definitely better the 2nd time around. I noticed more this time than I did the first time I saw it.

I liked it more the second time too because I paid better attention to some things that got by me the first time while at the same time trying not to over analyze it as much as I did the first time. :)

I'm seeing it again tonight. I liked it the first time, so I'm sure I'll like it the 2nd time. :woot:

I hope you have a good time. :D

It was probably worse for me a second time. The first time I just saw it as somewhat entertaining. The second time the flaws became more apparent and I realized how disappointing it was.

Nah, it was worse. I was able to focus more on the shaky plot the second time around, whereas first time around I was more angry about how they mishandled characters. My niggles were more concrete second time around

And it was far more boring the second time too. A predictable film made even more predictable, I'm afraid :(

I've seen it 3 times now..

I don't think it's necessarily better each time, but I do pick up one little things that I didn't catch the last time.

I don't understand why people think Wolverine has to be rated R. Snikt I'm not talking about you nessecarily, but that seems to be the general belief around the board.

Just because we aren't seeing blood and gore and dismembermant doesn't mean Wolverine isn't very obviously killing people when he pops those claws.

Granted somethings about the movie weren't what we were made out to think, but when people say what they were expecting, (a dark violent strictly Weapon X tale), you can still tell that story and have it be rated PG-13. In an ideal world with a great writer.

But anyway, back to the topic at hand, I haven't seen the movie again yet but I'm planning to maybe with my dad once I move back home for the summer.

Did you see the game? that would be awesome in a movie...but it won't happen :). I only saw it once, i liked it a lot. I think it's one of those movies I would love to just pop in my DVD player and watch. It's very entertaining.

I won't find out because I am not paying to watch it again.

It happened for me. The second time around I started to appreciate it a little more and saw it as an overall film instead of an adaptation of Wolverine.

Ive seen it twice, and my first time was amazingly enjoyable. It was better then I expected so was very suprised and entertained. The second time I knew what i was going to be watching so it wasnt better, it was the same for me. I enjoyed it just as much!

With repeated viewings of X3, each grew considerably worse, i liked it the first time i saw it, just because it was new and fresh to me i suppose..

but Wolverine has the lasting appeal X3 lacked. Better comedy, cooler action, and a worthy feel to it all. It didnt feel staged or out of place like x3 did.

Not to mention the first time i saw it i got the Japan ending, then the second time i got the deadpool ending, rounding out a perfect viewing each time!

I rank it up there with 2004's Tom Jane Punisher. A movie that did not deserve the pure hate it got. A movie That I enjoyed thoroughly.

The last movie to grow on me after a second (multiple) viewing was Iron Man, I thought it was great the first time around, but then I found it to be even greater the next few times I watched it. I doubt this movie will get the same treatment with me, but you never know.

I'll rent this on DVD but I won't watch it anytime soon.

Wolverine is one of those characters where it COULD be Rated R though that will never happen.

There should of been at least some blood in the film. I mean X2 had this epic shot of Logan running out covered on blood screaming. It was disturbing as hell! But this? Let's jump off a waterfall.
