Exactly. Some of the characters, as presented in the workprint, don't further the story by using their powers. They're "just there" for convenience's sake because they got to use their powers for 3 seconds before in a previous scene. Or for one fan-anticipated favorite, just to show off some cool effects.Sorry, I wasn't avoiding your post, I just forgot about this thread.
Secondary characters:
-Pretty obvious - characters like Colossus, Kitty Pryde, Callisto, Quill, Arclight, Multiple Man - they don't need to have development. They are there because their powers will becomes useful over some point in the story.
-Sure, the movie could have been longer to allow for more development.
Maybe. And then maybe someone needs to be fired to send a message that you can't leave DVD workprints just lying on your desk.maybe someones brother was there to visit him at work and just stole the DVD -
I disagree. They would only have the footage they needed to work on, not the entire movie. Each person would only get a scene or two, at most. Why would they get the entire movie if not every scene of the movie had FX in it? That's stupid even for Fox.
In that stage of post, the only people who would have access to the entire workprint would have been the editor, the director, test screening distributors, and any execs who requested to see it. My money's on the latter two possibilities.
