Maybe someone knows the answer to this, but I was wondering how much this film was reduced in terms of running time?

I bothered to read one review, and the guys main gripe seemed to be that certain scenes in the beginning weren't fleshed out as much as they could have been, and that generally the movie felt rushed due to trying to balance the origin and the conflict within the alloted time frame.

Otherwise the movie sounds fantastic, and has everything in place.
If we are slated to get an extra half hour or more once the DVD comes out I'm thinking we could still expect a masterpiece out of this one.

I remember an interview with Favreau during the editing process saying how he was trimming some of it down.

If I can remember right, at that time he mentioned talk of it being only 90-95 minutes long. I remember because a lot of fans started to get riled up about short run time.

According to the official run time though, he might not have cut much at all.

Too bad, I suppose a director can't afford to shot scenes he knows will end up being trimmed.
I just figure it be important to a director to make the best film possible, and then worry about time constraints later, but I suppose he knew from day one his exact limits.
I still hope that if the movie does indeed feel empty in spots, that an extended cut will appear later and rectify that.

if i remember correctly from reading a review, the movie clocks in at 126 min., roughly over 2 hrs.

^Certainly is, and perhaps the reviewer was way off, or then again maybe there is really so much happening, and so many people in this movie, that crucial elements are left out... Anyways, less then a week.

It felt less than 2 hours, I'd have to check my watch next time.
I did not notice much stuff cut out, maybe that scene with Tony and the models in bed we had a glimpse in a teaser, other than that, nothing...

The website for the cinema I'll be seeing the movie, says the running time is 123mins.

So they decided to cut it? Oh S***! :(

The Ghostface Killer scene was cut out as well. And apparently that scene with you know who.

That's been confirmed to be at the end of the credits.

actually xxx. r is 17 years old. this theater it's 21. really really odd. maybe it's part of TDK marketing campaign and the Joker did it?

The running time of the film I saw (I'm in France) is 125 minutes. But God I wouldn't have mind it being 150 minutes long ! Great show !
Also, in the version I have seen, there is a little bonus after the end credits, so make sure you stay to see it...

What I want to know is, are there any people here that already watched Iron Man and have read the novelization as well?

I'm wondering how much was cut out, since the novels always have a little more in them. Sometimes they have elements that weren't even filmed for the movie.

There was nothing cut out that mattered, the film flowed fine, i can't believe anyone would care that the scene with the 2 models was cut out.

That was cut out?!??!?!

That was such a badass shot in the Comic Con footage... :(

I'm upset that they didn't include a scene with
the flight attendants getting naked and using the stripper pole on the plane.

There is a stripper pole that rises from the floor, but they don't get naked.

Well it's not like it was a pivotal moment of the film. I'm sure there will be plenty of deleted scenes in the DVD-BlueRay disc, so w...t...f... ? After all, it doesn't bring anything to the story. If you want to see naked women, go rent an X-rated movie. I can't believe one feels upset for not seeing something that would last a few seconds over a 2 hours long superhero movie... Grow up, get a life...
