i dunno if this should be in a new thread but i didnt see it being discussed anywhere, but feel free to close it., but i was looking at all the set pics and the leaked stuff and all that and i thought to myself, man its gonna be really hard to top this movie.. i mean this movie has 4 villains, all kinds of ver the top action, a great story, just everything is to te 10th degree, so if they make a spidey 4 whic i belive they will, how are they possibly gonna top all this? they might have to go back to basics, with 1 villain and a basic story ad build from there, or maybe just keep going over the top, but i honestly dont think they could go more over the top then this movie seems to be, there is so much story..
the black suit taking over peter, brock being jelous, mj and gwen triangle,
harry story alone could fill a movie, then theres venom, not to mention sandman, all this is gonna be amazing, i can safely say so basicly my question to you all is how could they possibly top this one??

yeah, it'll definatley be hard. But it's Sam Raimi we're talking about here. If anyone could figure out how to top 3 it would be him.

in SM4, Spidey finds a time machine and goes back to Old America where he is mistaken for a black slave and goes to the cotton fields and fights the Man.

haha thats funny.. that brings up another question, hopefully sam stays with it as well as the cast and crew as ive heard cuz i heard a rumor of them stopping it here and actually making a 16 yr old spidey movie and they were even looking for a kid.. hopefully this movie is the huge sucsess that everybody thinks it is and the whole cast and crew come back for a 4th.. but i honestly dont see how they could top this movie even if it is sam... its not like he could put 5 or 6 villains, put more action and cram more stuff in, its obviously gonna be less packed and im wondering if it might make the movie feel a little like its missing somethign after seeing the monster of a movie that sm3 will be.. u know what i mean?

Does anyone see the sucess in a clone saga movie idea?

Every movie has some kind of internal struggle for Peter Parker along with the development of the villain(s).

Ofcourse it would be a fresh take on the clone saga and you could blend classic villains into the plot like Kraven, Scorpion, or whoever. Maybe even Nick Fury or SHIELD.

This movie will not be a curse, it'll be the exact opposite. sm3 will actually be the 1st decent spider-man movie because the previous 2 were meh.
Look at films like Rcky 3, Goldfinger, the last crusade, ROTK. They were 3rd outings of their espective franchises and they kicked ass.

No. I'd sooner see BC appera in a spidey movie than go through an almost certain poor attempt at a poorly managed and complicated storyline.

they are plenty of good stories left for Parker. For example, Man-Spider story arc, Clone Saga and Unmasked. I think each of those arcs alone are bigger than what's going on in 3.

Easy; Richard Pryor builds an evil computer. Always works.

yes but doesnt sam try and keep it somewhat realistic? this movie is kinda breaking the mold, but as cool as the man spider would be it doesnt seem like hed do it.. im sure there are great stories to tell, but i think your missing the point, what im saying is they crammed all kinds of stories in to this one, my question is if they make another one with less story or villains or whatever will it feel like something is missing after such a filling 3rd movie..

I see what you mean, but the Bond series has extravaganzas like You Only Live Twice and The Spy Who Loved Me, right next to more realistic, but no less thrilling movies like From Russia With Love and For Your Eyes Only.

nahh, it might be cuz of the whole squishing so much in but raimi i think knows what he is doing and if anyone is thinking of any examples in the past, itz cuz of sum reasons. like x men 3, different director and batman forever? i believe that was a different director too. does anyone agree?

I'm more worried if this one will top the first two. I'm more positive than negative at this point though. Alot more positive.

I hope Spider-Man 3 owns the first two.:cmad:

CURSE! LOL!!! The only curse this franchise has is the fact that the audience wants more spider-man movies then they can throw out there!

Sam Raimi has done a great job so far with the Spider-Man franchise, and seeing how there's like so many comic-stories about Spidey, Sam can think of many ideas to deal with in future movies, but then again, the franchise won't last that long because of the fact that there are first-rate villains and second-rate villains...people would go to see Green Goblin, Dr. Octopus, Sandman, Venom, Lizard, Kraven and maybe even Electro because they have a lot of stories and they would look great on screen...well, maybe not Kraven, since he doesn't really have anything fantastic about him since he only has a spear and rope, lol, but he does have the "Last Hunt" story which would be a great Spider-Man movie...then second-rate villains like Shocker, Scorpion, Rhino, Mysterio, Vulture and like other classic ones like Beetle and what not, they might look awesome in comics, like Shocker's uniform (the Ultimate Shocker version is so ******ed by the way), but their stories, half of the people in the US couldn't figure out Rhino's true story these days and no one would explain how an old dude could become Vulture...so, you have a lot of stories, but only a limit of great villains that people would watch and would look fantastic on screen...plus I like how Raimi did put Quentin Beck in S-M 3, now that was brilliant because I doubt we will be seeing Mysterio in a movie though.

it would be very stupid to have the clone saga in a spidey movie.

If the clone saga ever made it to the big screen. Then X-Men 3:The Last Stand would be my faviorite movie of all time.:o

What do you mean by top the 1st 2? Financially or in terms of film quality?

A hot young vixen called Black Cat, will drive all the Spider-man and comic book nerds crazy in Spider-man 4.

Sam has a few things up his sleeve, don't worry.

I don't know, I think they should play it safe and end it on three. Though as Kevin Roegele has said, from a business point of view, its only logical to make more.

Its just that as a fan, I'm afraid they would start having to use some of the not-so-good villains, and use some not-so-good plots. Thats why I'd end it with three, I mean, its a good number to end on anyway.

And yeah, I know I have absolutely no say in what they do with the idea of future sequels, but I just thought I'd share my view.
