Then come back next year, jumping ahead a few years in time, as Metropolis, and get an actual Superman show going. Same cast, Chloe could be working at the planet along with Clark, who's just getting a job there, and Lois. Lex would be the Lex we all know and love from the comics, etc. etc. The first few episodes could be a loose adaptation of Birthright :o

there will be no superman show

but a spin-off would not be out of the question

Ok then who's the spin-off?

I'm thinking Shelby gets a show saving the pets of SV.

they could spin someone off, they tried with AC....MM when he is inevitably introduced will not be out of the question. id be surprised if they havent had cyborg talks already.

and..........there is a cute lil blond out there somewhere who is sort of related to clark.

You're right Alicia should have her own spin-off. :D

I'd watch a show with just her doing stuff like washing cars, jumping on trampolines, eating hot dogs, etc. :o

I'd much rather see a Lex Luthor spin off. focussing on his years of evil, before him and the real man steel face off for the first time

The Superman show's a good idea, but the Lex Lutho spin-off... o_o;

I can hardly picture the "Lex Luthor's adventure in LuthorCorp" show being good

why? it's the most redeeming part of SV. Most, if not all lex centric episode is usually of the quality, and creativity that I expect this show to have. It's usually when the Clarky episodes come along that I'm 1)bored, 2)angry at the redundancy, and 3) just disgusted at some of the creative choices they made (example: The NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO when alicia died, who ever wrote that should be shot, and so should George Lucas for pulling the same mumbo jumbo crap)

I could not agree more vehemently.

You really think that is going to happen now after Superman Returns was put on the screen? I mean, it's a nice fantasy in a "what could have been" kind of way (the same way I wish we got a Brian Singer directed X3), but it's obviously not going to happen now.

ONE episod is different than a whole show, remember that, I think people would get tired of it, maybe I'm wrong, but pretty sure I'm not ^^

I actually think having Superman Returns released betters the chances...they've seen with SR that people want to see the real superman, and here they have a show already that they can just turn into that, they dont have to scramble to put one together ala Blade and that newer Spider-Man cartoon :o

If they were to spin off Smallville, I'd prefer a spin-off following Lois.

Lois in Metropolis could, on her journey to becoming the Planet's best reporter, could be all about her getting into sticky situations. Also, there'd be no need for Clark since he'd, presumably, be off finding himself travelling the world or something. It could also star Michael McKean as Perry and whoever they get to play Jimmy O.

Essentially, the show would be about Metropolis and the Planet before Clark shows up. Just as SV is building to Clark's first S-shield reveal, the Lois spin-off's finale would feature a guest appearance by a bespectacled Tom Welling getting a job at the paper. :)

I dunno. I think Lois is the only character who could feasibly carry her own show. Heck, Chloe could still be on it that way! Rosenbaum could do guest appearances once in a while but wouldn't necesarrily be a regular. Though LuthorCorp (or even LexCorp, for that matter) would be an ominous presence throughout.

I actually like the first idea and this one^ but i would have it be basically metropolis with out kent. could be really good. We get to see what happens with chloe and lois and we get to see lex turn even more evil before superman's eventual return.

By the way who is Alicia is that meant to be supergirl? Must have missed that one can someone post a pic please.

alicia is not meant to be supergirl....its just shes the hottest girl on smallville. her real name is sarah carter. she is also All Star Superman's avatar.

overkill is the word. If they make too much superman, then people will get bored of it. It's better to make less, and maintain demand, than to fill demand which will force demand to fall.

they should have more bars with trampolines anyway..:)

you and me Bak...we'll open a bar with a trampoline. could be a good idea.

Hmm...the Lois spin-off is really the only one I could see working. Possible titles: "Metropolis," "The Planet," "Daily Planet," whatever.

I don't want to see a spin-off show focusing on Clark from Smallville as Superman. The thing about TV is they have smaller budgets. I don't want to see Tom Welling in a poor excuse for a costume doing crappy flying sequences, a la "Lois and Clark."

Some of you might argue that that wouldn't happen, because of the quality of the flying sequence in Crusade, but the thing is, that stuff's expensive. If they had to do that every week, they'd have to either have a blockbuster budget or cut back the quality on the sequences tremendously.

if Smallville actually extends anywhere into their future lives it would only be via something like a 2 hour made for TV movie.
