You know what is also interesting Charl? The reports of Terrio being hired to make some polishes to Goyers script come out about the same time reports say WB's in negotiations/has offered/will offer Phoenix the role of Lex most likely.

Perhaps Phoenix read the script and wanted some adjustments made to the Lex Luthor character or with certain scenes/diologue before considering accepting, hence why Terrio was hired to make the adjustments?

I'm just speculating of course, but trying to put two and two together since both these reports came out about the same time.

What do you think about that possibly being the scenario?

This wouldn't surprise me at all. You know Affleck had to play a part in this as well. From all appearances, there seems to be a big collaborative effort to bring forth the best product, and that's a good thing. That bodes well for the film IMO. This leak with JP is weird though. As many have said it came from a reputable source, which means there is a some fire with this smoke.

Don't know for sure. But even if he's not, I'm pretty sure Goyer is and Goyer is still on the project. Goyer can provide the comic info while Terrio helps with aspects like story-telling and dialogue that are common to all movies.

Goyer, Affleck and Snyder are the ones who familiar with the source material. Terrio is the Oscar winning writer who will do the polishing. He doesn't need to be 100% familiar with the source material to do polishing. At least IMO.

I think it's a coincidence. We're about a month away from production and a lot of stuff about this film will start coming out soon. Things are gonna start coming out fast and furious.

Yea, I'm sure he's not familiar with comics. It's not like Superman & Batman aren't up there with Spider-Man as the most popular superheroes of all time. It's not like this Chris guy has ever heard about them before.

If the people forming the story are at least somewhat familiar to the comics (Goyer and Snyder and PROBABLY Affleck) then making the dialog wittier is a non-issue for me. "You're a monster Zod, and I'm gonna stop you!" is totally a line you might expect to read in a comic, but comes off as cliche on film (I didn't mind it, though).

Affleck is familiar with the comics. He's a big fan of Frank's The Dark Knight Returns.

Man I can't wait for the Batman reboot that will be starring, directed, and written by Affleck.

Everyone moaned and ***** about Batfleck. Is he a downgrade to Bale? Yes but what could he do? He could be involved in writing, producing, & directing DC films & Batman films. He's a good film making and writer and to me that makes up for him being a downgrade. Not saying he will suck but compared to Bale it's no lie.

the important is that Goyer and Snyder knows about the comic book world.

I never said their work was amateur hour. Not at all, but for me the dialogue was stiff in some areas. There are really no recent comparisons I can think of outside of Marvel, but I'd use IM as an example. Not saying I want Marvel humor, but they way they spoke felt (and sounded) natural.

Well I agree that some words are a little corny but I didn't feel the dialoge as not natural. I found some of MOS parts of the dialogue as if I was seeing a comicbook. IMO what the cast did with the few dialogue they had, they did it solid and great. I felt the key parts of the movie (Lois-Clark and Martha-Clark) pretty natural but needed to be more enlonged thats true. I hope this movie shows a Superman already stablished and interacting with key characters and of course THE DAILY PLANET CLARK KENT!!!! I need to see Cavill doing that part of Superman.
IMO IM suffers in some ocassions of pacing especially in the second half of the movie. I found some dialogue (except from Stark) a little stiff if you ask me.

I don't think JP is such a huge star who can have the script altered before on board.

t: It probably didn't hear it over my laughter. That's what Bale's Batman voice does it me. It makes me laugh.

I enjoyed that movie also. Well aside of the Stane-Stark and Pepper-Tony (pretty original and fresh chemistry) I would say the dialogue is nothing especial at all.
I'm not so bothered by that kind of things especially if they're not in all parts of the movie and in MOS clearly weren't.
IMO all the movies (especially cmb) has those kind of phrases but that didn't made me feel not being inside in the movie. Again, I felt the dialogue good and the acting was great IMO, and the best (Lois-Clark chemistry, and Martha-Clark and Johna-Clark teenager, even if it wasn't a big amount of the movie, it was pretty intense).
