It wasn't his obligation. He served as a story consultant and that's exactly what he did. If there are faults, it should be directed at Snyder and Goyer.You might be right. It didn't seem like he helped that much. If that was the case, he should have stayed out of it and let them hire someone who wanted to get their hands dirty.
I still lament on the potential of Nolan's original choice in Aronofsky. The sad irony in him not getting the job (too slow to develop) was offset by MOS getting delayed by 6 months anyway. I wonder if that would have made any difference for WB.
