I have always thought that The Kurgan belongs in any discussion of the most iconic and memorable genre villains. He's up there with Vader or The Joker IMO.

The voice, the physical demeanor... He's like Sabertooth done right in HIGHLANDER. That armor costume too, and the sword. Highlander is lightning in a bottle. Sometimes you just have to leave well enough alone.

Thats what I was hoping for. I've been attracted lately to these dark comedy horror films as opposed to just outright scary.

There is a theory that Scott's Blade Runner, particularly his depiction of futuristic cities, actually shaped the way advertising and cities were designed in the decades to follow, making it maybe less a prediction and more of a life-imitating-art situation.

My day has been fantastic. I've gone back to look at some of my writing. Trying to turn page one into that hook that'll pull the reader into the story. In doing so, I've come up with a name for my fantasy race that should help the astute reader get what I'm railing against. They were efreets/ifrits (look them up, pretty cool mythological figures), but for the sake of my theme I'm referring to them as the Avax.
