These quotes sum up my reaction. The cast is ridiculously wrong.
The only thing worth the ticket money is Jamie Bell, and he's playing the wrong character.

As Ben Grimm, he seems like complete head-scratcher, but since they'll presumably be doing motion-capture for CGI, I LOVE the idea of a dancer who can move and maybe bring the dynamic characteristics of the Thing to the screen.

. . . there. I think I've said the one good thing I can think of to say about this cast, so from now on, I'll take my mother's advice and keep my mouth shut.

I made this point elsewhere, but Chiklis was clearly not playing a 41-year-old in the Tim Story films, so the fact that Bell is young does not automatically mean that the character of Ben Grimm will be young.

Tis True. I've always imagined Ben dogding football tackles in college with his quick graceful steps, or mastering Jet fighter's with a neat little twirl. When he fights the Hulk he bamboozles the green buffoon with a Tango to die for...

Seriously, Bell is a fine actor (done good stuff beyond Billy Elliot, lol), but he is totally wrong for Ben Grimm.

I haven't seen Bell in anything for a while, but BILLY ELLIOT was in 2000. I'm pretty sure that this guy can play something other than himself 15 years ago.

That said, he's got a sort of a young working man thing going on visually, which he also had 15 years ago. I can see it.

I'm A-okay with Eisenberg, but I'm not complaining about this. I think it's a weird ass choice, but I'm not assuming anything about the end result. There's potential to go either way.

If I was Jamie Bell I would rather want to play the young Hank Pym Ant-Man (and work with Edgar Wright and Michael Douglas) than agree to be in this mess that's supposed to be Fantastic Four.
