Yeah, but in the greater scheme of things, she got them almost immediately ( IIRC, within the first years of issues ). I doubt even Fox would make the mistake of omitting them.

Ben Grimm is supposed to be Reed Richards musclebound friend, who has acted as his glorified bodyguard their entire life.

Reed is supposed to look weaker in comparison to Ben, not the other way around. And height plays into that. Especially in this case, where Ben doesn't have the musclebound frame we typically have.
