I wouldn't say Benedict Wong is the wrong Wong for Wong in Strange, but it is strange to have Benedict Wong as the Wong for Benedict's Strange.

Cool. Every time I see Benedict Wong he seems to either be in space movies or playing gangsters. He has been in four big space movies over the last decade. Moon, Sunshine, Prometheus and The Martian. He played criminal characters in Kick Ass 2, Top Boy and The Wrong Mans.

He was in one of the best episodes of The IT Crowd and played various characters on The Peter Serafinowicz sketch Show.

He has worked with many of the MCU actors already. Paul Bettany, Chris Evans, Peter Serafinowicz, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

It would be hilarious if he played Wong with his native Manchester accent.

Ive probably seen Ben Wong in a ton of movies but didnt really know who he was. Now Ill actually be aware of him as an actor which is cool.

American or Chinese English accents are what he uses mostly.

Regarding Wong's role in the MCU, I think the casting shows two competing thoughts.

They hired a very good actor. I don't think they would have done that if he had the traditional Wong "manservant" role. That being said, the fact that they cast him so late is indicative that his role isn't all that large. I wonder if they were torn whether to use him at all given the implications of the character.

His role outside of Dr. Strange probably depends heavily on how Dr. Strange is used.

I considered the same tbh. I actually think Wong will just turn up towards the end as part of the sizzle for the next installment as opposed to being a big part of this

Or just the filming schedule was setup so the Wong's scenes were towards the end of filming so it wasn't a high priority for them until now. Not unheard of for movies.
