These Mega Evolutions are only triggered during battle when holding an item and maybe something else too and they're just forms as far as we're concerned right now. It's not a separate type.

Fairy Type is the new type and a new chart for the types will be out soon.

I hope this is the case. I want Pokemon to keep the simplicity of a Pokemon family only having 3 evolutions at most.

That is the case. Serebii has confirmed that specific Pokémon can trigger their Mega forms while holding an item that allows them to gain higher stats and new types.

These mega evolutions are very Digimon-esque. My inner child is delighted, as it's the kind of thing my 10 year old self would have loved, but my adult self is apprehensive.

Kind of reminds me of all those "Pokegod" rumours that were going around when I was a nipper with all those mythical evolutions of existing Pokemon (like Mewtwo for godsake!).

At least it's only that. But I still feel that it's pointless. I'd rather see time and effort spent giving Dunsparce and Farfetch'd evolutions so they're more viable than these Mega forms. Blaziken, Mewtwo, and Lucario are already good Pokemon.

It can attack twice. This has the Smogon crowd raging, apparently.

I think this Mega thing should've been reserved for pokemon like Scyther, Electabuzz, and Magmar who were basics for the longest time, and whose evolutions were trade dependent.

I'm not a "Gen Wunner" but this is becoming stupid. Why would Kangaskhan's mega form be using it's baby? Why not make the baby a separate Pokemon (like they should have gone in Gen II when they were first introduced). I'm losing interest in XY.

Nothing new to see, but it shows that when Mega Evolving, you don't lose a turn. You may select the Mega Evolve option during your turn, and still select a attack, Digivolving Mega Evolving and attacking in the same turn.

agreed and early in the game, sorry but the crap of having to play the entire story before you can trade with past gens is complete bull

i dont want lv100 on my team i'd settle for lv1 and build in in x/y i just want my team

Yeah, they could even make your team Level 1 to balance it out. This is probably weird, but I suppose they do that so you need to choose the Pokemon in the actual game to finish the story first.

There will be some sort of cross-generation compatibility Gen I/II and III were the only exception because they changed the data structure in the GBA.

I would expect it to only be Gen V though. And you can forget transferring Pokemon at the beginning or before beating the Elite 4. They intentionally design it this way, they didn't spend hours developing new Pokemon just so you can use Charmander again.

b/w and b/w2 ha it after you won the first gym, that i can live with. but the elite 4 is pushing it

and its squirtle i want most, charmander and bulbasaur are just part of the package.
