I think you're mistaking online trading and transferring. The former has usually been early in the game but the latter has always been after the Elite 4, IIRC.

yeah i think your right, i just hope its still backward compatible for trading.

If XY is to have a "Lucario/Zoroark", now's the time to unveil it, though the point of a "Generation Mascot" is to start hyping it up months in advanced, so I dunno.

So new news

Pokemon bank will be an annually paid for cloud system that works like the in game boxes and at the moment is the only way to get Pokemon from bw and bw2 to xy

And newest megas are the Kano starters

Looks like there will be a free trial so you can do a one-off transfer your old Pokemon on the cloud and into the game.

The paid service will be 500 yen or something so that's kinda like $5?

I'm really happy with this.

The Mega-Charizard is still the awful Fire/Flying type. Mega-Venusaur got Thick Fat which is awesome though.

Hopefully if I'm paying for this service, then it just transfers them over without any nonsense. Slowly moving 6 at a time while playing a safari mini-game was ridiculous.

Yeah. No minigame stuff and make it quick transfer and many Pokemon at once, and if you just wanna do a one-off transfer then just get the free trial.

And it'll be for future stuff too.

Ok now kinda pissed with this whole thing. The game comes out worldwide October. The uk doesn't get the poke bank till the 27th December

I can't access my old Pokemon till a full 2 months after the game has been released sorry that's just killed a launch day buy for me.

... seriously? sorry that seems way whiny to me...

play through the game in those 2 months, and then play through with your favorites after

2 months is hardly long

2 months is pretty long for a core function of what this series is about. Transferring from old games to the new is a major part of this franchise.

I don't know about you, but I don't play these games for their awesome story or compelling gameplay. I like continuing to move and grow my collection from game to game. I'd be pissed too if I had to wait 2 months for that.

... the core concept is of course "catching them all" but catch all the pokemon you can in the game first.. it's not "transfer them all" that involves no skill what so ever. And isn't even a "game".

I also honestly don't get why people need to beat a game as soon as they get it, and get the game the day of the release.. spread it out a little.. why race to finish it so quickly?

In White, I only used native Pokemon. In Platinum, I bred my entire team and used them from as early as possible. I enjoyed White and eventually stopped playing Platinum. There was no fun or challenge in the latter.

exactly... i swear, its like some people don't even want to play the game, they just want to easily beat everyone, and then wait for the next game to come out so they can transfer them all again

I know. I LOVE Bulbasaur, but I would get bored using him every game even though he's the best Grass starter, IMO, and their moves are pretty useful. If you keep using the same Pokemon, you won't get new favorites.

Play through the game and catch all the new ones, keep building up the team you've had for a few games. If that's what people enjoy about the games, so what? I've never enjoyed or cared about the story in these games, they are usually pretty dull, and the combat hasn't changed. The cool thing about the new games are the new pokemon, so I'm interested in getting my generation spanning bank into the game and catching all the new ones. I have a team that I've built up along the way, adding in new additions when I find something cool.

im just saying.. with this abundance of pokemon and the fact you can only train a team so far.. shake it up a bit. learn to love some other pokemon, give them a try. you don't "need" your old team right off the bat.

2 months is a great idea imo... forces people to actually use the new pokemon

really its whiny, that one of the biggest gaming markets have to wait 2 months where as the rest of the world get it launch day. thats not whiny that ********. its hardly something they can say takes time. its a god damn server its hardly something that need regional changes or translation. especially when the us on exists

as for the new ones sorry but none interest me. i love exploring the new region but i've yet to see a pokemon that has caught my attention like my original 6, that ive used all the way from yellow. maybe this will change with x/y. hopefully it will but it hasn't yet. i started with yellow and didnt play a new game until heartgold. so i just prefer the original 2 generations why is that such a big deal with people.

as for just wanting to beat the game i dont transfer lv100's i always breed new lv1 of the team and use them like i would any caught in the game

................ you seriously only use 6 pokemon and have only been using 6 pokemon since POKEMON YELLOW ???? dude... i'd just quit buying the game. That sounds boring as all hell

but cheers to you for apparently liking that

but yes.. WHINEY.. come on man, you use 6 pokemon out of hundreds, and are throwing what appears to be a hissy fit that you can't use them right away as soon as you buy the game (that you have to have and on release day, and that you probably have to have beaten in a weak) to me ... that = "take a chill pill" and broaden your horizons.

I missed the date earlier but Japan isn't getting the Poke Bank until Dec 25. The UK isn't being screwed by having to wait 2 months more than anyone else, Nintendo's native country only gets it 48 hours before you will.

I'm assuming this is so Nintendo has more time to properly test it and make sure it's secure, functional, and can handle any potential disaster.

Yes I only use a core 6 some will rotate some in and out but it's usually a set group I don't see what's wrong with that many players do this. Why should I stop buying a game I enjoy just because I like to use select characters. Should anyone who uses scorpion never have got a game after the first mortal kombat.

My hissy fit as you put it was the reports (that have now changed) that the pal region was being screwed over by the wait time. I don't see why that had to happen. Especially if the actual game itself is a worldwide release. I haven't even pre ordered the game so the launch day buy was always up I'm the air.

You also seem to keep insisting I'd beat the game in a week. I do know how to enjoy these and have never rushed through one yet. As for broadening my horizons I enjoy seeing the designs and love exploring the regions so Im not some narrow minders gen-oner who insists the original 151 are the greatest and only true games I just have my personal favourites.

Yes I admit I may have come across as a bit pissed but it was at the Ida of the pal players getting screwed over again like we always used to.

Maybe because they want to thoroughly test it an extra 2 months instead of making it available at launch, having potential issues, and then doing PR damage control over people losing their Pokemon? I'm assuming Gen V to Gen VI is one-way like it was for Gen III to IV, so it's kinda important to get it right, especially when they want people to pay for the service after their free trial.
