J.K. Simmons on Spidey 3

We should wait for Tobey and Kirsten to come back.

If they dont, then the franchise will be ruined.

Simmons was born to play JJJ and i'm glad he likes the role so much.:)

the most positive news on further movies I've heard yet. Nice to see raimi has changed his tune a little whilst making the third. Spidey 4, 5 & 6 with original cast and director? spidey fans would be spoilt!:spidey:

The head of Sony has already said she would like to make 4,5 and 6 if possible and Alvin Sargent (screenwriter) signed an option for a 4th movie too. Its very much in the planning to make a 4th if the 3rd is another smash hit i think.

Finally there's one actor who really likes his role not just the paychecks. Same goes for Sam "Da Man" Raimi (as director)!

I hate how Dunst b*tched about her role though it made her famous. I hope they kill MJ off and go with Pete/Gwen or at least recast the role for the next movies with an actress who wants to play it.

I don't have a problem with more movies. After all, the source material is thick and provides enough stories for the next 20 movies. There's a good chance Spider-Man could evolve into the next Bond series type of character. Also that way recasting wouldn't hurt so much.

Spidey 4,5,6? I'm here for more :spidey:

Re-casting gives me shivers. If it's something that needs to be done, I hope they take 3 years off, and re-cast everybody. Also, I'd rather they not call it Spider-Man 4, and find a sub-title instead. They could just start a new Spider-Man trilogy with a new cast and new villains, obviously skipping his origin.

If they can keep the same cast around though, that's certainly preferable.

I have been a fan of JK since the Oz days he is such a great actor and its awesome that he is so excited about the role. I so hope we get more Spidey films there is still a lot of great films that can churned out.

So George Lucas has been qouted that he was going to make 12 Star Wars Movies and gave out dates that have passed.

Because they are excited now they might do it, but they migt change their minds and move on to something else with their career.

As long as Spidey 3 doesn't bomb (which it won't) there will be a Spidey 4 mark my words.

It's nice to hear that both Simmons and Raimi are very committed and excited still about the franchise and that Raimi may well be interested in doing number 4 and beyond.

Nice interview from a nice guy.

This is excellent news! I am quite thankful and happy that Sam Raimi has stated that he is still interested in making a sequel to Spider-Man 3. It gives me high hopes for the franchise. It is great that Simmons is very committed and dedicated to these successful films. :D

Sam Raimi will direct "The Wee Free Men" (for SONY after Spider-Man 3) an adaptation of Terry Pratchett's bestselling young-adult novel. This film will probably take two years to make, it's a bit special effect heavy. Meaning, we won't see Spider-Man 4 until about four to five years after Spidey 3.

This is why I think it's best that Sony/Marvel hire another director for Spider-Man 4, and let Sam Raimi serve as a producer. He needs to helm other movies, no director should be tied down to one single franchise for a freakin' decade or more. I don't want to wait 4 to 5 years for a damn Spidey film.

Yea I can't stand Dunst, the Spider-man movies put her in the A list, and now she thinks she's too good for them and deserves more money then anyone else when she usually just screams and sits around.

You can tell she is stuck up. I know some want to keep MJ but I say rid of her for the sake of the next three films and just keep Bryce. I like Blondes better any who :)

yeah, and I can't stand people like you who make up stories about actresses just so you can further your agenda

whose the actor? cause i certainly didn't hear anyone say "I like this role, and not just for the money". so why are you making up ****?

Where did she ***** about her role?

Nothing satisfies some of you people. An actress makes a comment about her role and you twist it and turn it into something else. good job!

But The Wee Free Men, damnit, didn't you hear me...Wee Free?!

Exactly. Wow! A poster with brains around here, unbelievable.

I really dont understand why they didnt just film 3 and 4 back-to-back...a couple more months of work frees everyone up to persue other interests and projects for the next few YEARS.

Anyway; Glad to see Simmons is on board for any and all sequels. That man's the one true gem of the Spidey movie franchise, imo...
