Man these Lee Child fans are an angry bunch.

Size isn't everything dudes. Hollywood got a 6'3" dude to play Wolverine when he's supposed to be 5'3". Wolverine is called the runt for a reason.

No, him calling me dumb because I said I would wait for it on TV is over reacting. opinions differing from his own get called dumb.

Besides, he said "Jack Reacher in every way except for his size." Sadly that's wrong, not even same hair color.
He didn't call you dumb. He said your motivations for waiting this movie on TV are dumb, and said so in a lighthearted manner for which this boards are know. You are overacting at a comment made with no objective of dismissing your intelligence.

So yeah... Cool your jets.

I actually liked the movie a lot. A good story with some twists. Could actually see the action (not a bunch of fast cuts and pointless cgi). Only bad thing was the pacing, could have shaved off a good 20/25 mins.

Tom Cruise was good and the action was great but I just didn't feel this movie. Didn't keep me thoroughly engaged...

Didnt seem lighthearted. There was no smiley of any sort unless I'm to gleen tone from text that included calling me dumb.

You were not called dumb. And the "ha ha ha" is a textbook example of a lighrhearted exchange. Since you appear to either be unable or unwilling to accept you have not been insulted, let's end this discussion before it does descend into unproper conduct.

For those who have seen it, how big is Rosamund Pike's role? Both in terms of importance and screentime.

She's pretty important and has a decent amount of screentime but the best part of her role is her amazing body. Chickenscratch I wasn't calling you dumb I was calling the fact that you won't see the movie because Tom Cruise is short dumb. I've read every Jack Reacher novel, I love them and I guarantee you Tom Cruise is Jack Reacher. Now whenever I read the books ill be picturing Cruise as Reacher. I thought the film was fantastic. Cruise just owns the role like noone else could. The action is top notch and it feels smarter than your typical action movie. I give it a 9/10

This film was solid. Well worth my money.

Interesting. I haven't read the books but I also thought Cruise was great as Reacher. (Just like i thought he was a great Lestat and Michael Keaton a great Batman. I guess for me it's more about capturing the essence of the character than looking just like him.)

Pike was big all right. If you've seen it, you already know. :awesome:

I have quite the crush on her, so that is good news to me.

Ive read all the Reacher books except the newest one I get them when there in paperback.I liked it a lot really solid I wish more fans would realize the movie won't ruin the books.

I thought Tom Cruise just being Tom Cruise not necessarily him being short is what more people were annoyed with.

And while, I see a lot of the reviews as well as people around here seem to really like the film, the fact it made half of what the Hobbit made in it's second week of release, which was a massive slide in itself and was pushed down even more by Les Mis and Django, kinda enforces that. Perhaps this movie will do better overseas.

Rosamund Pike's boobies are awesome... DAMNNN

Never read this book or any in this series, but really enjoyed the movie, although I dont like Tom Cruise in any post-military officer role.
8.5 out of 10.

The numbers are positive for the film, it made more on Christmas day than on it's opening day and considering it is surrounded by two big new releases, a family comedy and a juggernaut like The Hobbit it has done well and has good WOM.

Why?

no its because he was short. He definitely wasn't being himself. This role reminded me a lot of Vincent, he's very intense especially in the eyes

Maybe in terms of fans of the book.

But I was more inferring in this movie not doing as well because of the casting of Cruise.

^ I don't get what you're saying. People like Tom Cruise and don't care for Reacher's height. So, it shouldn't be problem.

Anyway, Lee Child said the studio is considering a sequel, and suggested it might be based on "The Hard Way" or "Worth Dying For".

A lot of people don't like Tom Cruise.

And a lot of people do.

That can be applied to anyone in the entertainment business.

Both good choices, though 61 Hours is a favorite of mine.
