Yeah, I don't think the studio is too confident in this.

It still kept the December 25th release.

There was a lot of discussion about this yesterday. A lot had thought they had moved the date.

The thing is, it all falls on Scorsese if he can finish the final cut of 'Wolf on Wall Street' on time. If Paramount gives it the December release, then it pushes Jack Ryan, which is more of a punishment than a benefit for the latter.

I think by the end of October, Paramount needs to decide. That way, they can usher out another Jack Ryan trailer in November along with the final posters (with the date on them)

I don't think the trailer is that big of a deal. The SAVING MR. BROOKS trailer is online, but not in theaters yet (maybe next Friday?). And I think that comes out sooner if not on the same exact day. I also think there might be some other Christmas releases that are in the same boat (pun not intended). I know, it's different because it's a blockbuster. But, still, there's a lot of time and there can still be a strong marketing push for it and it's not the only marketing 'late to the table' as it were - to the masses. Hell, have the trailer attached to Thor if they can do that - everyone will know. And if it was released in theaters previously, might have even then been overshadowed by Thor.

Tomorrow online. I wouldn't be surprised if it hits theaters October 18, maybe with The Fifth Estate. Then from thereon out:

- Ender's Game
- Thor
- The Hunger Games
- The Hobbit

And everybody should know about it. November really is the winter blockbuster month. And that's not counting the more adult dramas that they'll likely attach it to. As long as the trailer is out October 18, there's no real marketing problem thanks in large push to the huge help November will be.

Well Fast 6's trailer premiered two months prior too. I know that's a bit different but it's not the super unusual.

As said the 2/3 months thing isn't really a problem because the month of blockbusters is November. Typically those films carry about eight trailers lol. So, with Jack Ryan attached to all or most of those everyone and their grandparents will know by December 1st.

Co-incidentally I was only really getting into his work this year, I really enjoyed Against All Enemies and Threat Vector.

BTW it's not like Paramount is so evil that they'll willing to send out studio reps to Tom's funeral and drap his coffin with Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit posters.

They know sometimes its better to save your promotional budget til closer to release and for.this it probably isn't very high either
