New Synopsis

Based on the CIA analyst created by espionage master Tom Clancy, “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit” is a blistering action thriller that follows Ryan (Chris Pine, “Star Trek”) from his quiet double-life as a veteran-turned-Wall Street executive to his all-out initiation as a hunted American agent on the trail of a massive terrorist plot in Moscow.

Ryan appears to be just another New York executive to his friends and loved ones, but his enlistment into the CIA secretly goes back years. He was brought in as a brainy Ph.D. who crunches global data – but when Ryan ferrets out a meticulously planned scheme to collapse the U.S. economy and spark global chaos, he becomes the only man with the skills to stop it. Now, he’s gone fully operational, thrust into a world of mounting suspicion, deception and deadly force. Caught between his tight-lipped handler Harper (Academy Award-winner Kevin Costner), his in-the-dark fiancée Cathy (Keira Knightley) and a brilliant Russian oligarch (Kenneth Branagh), Jack must confront a new reality where no one can seem to be trusted, yet the fate of millions rests on his finding the truth. With the urgency of a lit fuse, he’s in a race to stay one step ahead of everyone around him.

Shush, DS. Look at that brutal look on his face. He's going to shoot you next. :o

I swear all of the posters for this film is being done by kids at an after school Photoshop class.

I actually like that poster, give me somewhat of a Bourne vibe

Did Clancy ever clarify if all his characters were in the same universe? Like would Ryan ever meet Sam Fisher?

I'm not really feeling the love for this one . Is looking like maybe a rental for me at this point.

Is be up for a Tom Clancy film universe. Sam fisher jack Ryan team up. Heck yes

The first poster is the best....this one not so much. And I'd be more than up for a Sam Fisher and Jack Ryan team up!

I think so, Maxwell Moore was a new character he'd created and intended to make a series out of and he encounters a character from the Jack Ryan books.

I finally saw a trailer for this last night with American Hustle it looks pretty entertaining, I think I'll check it out just to see if Pine can hold the film on his own, I like him so I hope it does well.

I'm surprised it's taken this long for Pine to have his own star vehicle. I thought for sure that after 2009, he would have had one.

Nice to see tv spots running. Have been catching them quite often the last week. :)

I am really looking forward to this and I think moving it back will end up being very good for the film. Way too much competition at Christmas this year.

With Knightley, Costner and Branagh, he isn't going to need to.

Nice to see Knightley attached to another (potential) blockbuster movie. I hope Pine will succeed where Affleck had failed in Sum of All Fears.

Tom Hardy was attached to a Sam Fisher movie, and Kevin Costner was attached to play the same character he plays in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, so it seems the answer is yes.

But I haven't heard anything concrete about the Sam Fisher movie for a while.
