James Bond: 007 - Spectre - Part 5

I'm not against a American actor to play Bond but like others have said the talent pool of
American actors who can do a good English accent without it sounding like a caricature is slim.
This is true. Just waiting for people to use Johnny Depp and Robert Downey has examples of good English accents....

That is already Craig under Mendes and costumer designer Jany Temime. Bond's suits and apparel in general was very fashionable in Skyfall and set photos from Spectre seem to indicate a continuation of that trend. And Bond should never dress overly fashionably, he is by definition an experienced professional in his late 30s/early 40s. Men that age don't need to nor do they dress fashionably. Well-dressed men of that age have developed a personal style and know what works for them and their body types. Timeless = beyond cool, fashion = cringeworthy safari suits, bellbottoms, 90's geometric ties, and laughably skinny suits that look like they shrunk in the wash.

EDIT:
Also, I highly doubt that Highmore will fill out or grow up the way many are thinking. Child stars like Highmore are selected because they look and can play younger than they look. As a result, with the exception of Christian Bale, they also seem to grow up to be manlets (ie. short and narrow-shouldered, eg. Daniel Radcliffe, Elijah Wood, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, etc.)
I think Craig's Bond as been fashionable in all 3 of his films. Not counting his suits I've loved a lot of the clothes he as worn in CR,QOS and SF...

Yeah, Craig has been by far the 'sexiest' of all Bonds.

Looks wise, I would say Connery and Brosnan were the handsomest.

So I never understood, why do they like to begin shooting for Bond films so late? Is it just part of the weird tradition?

For everyone around here speculating about the possibility of Spectre/Bond 25 serving as a proper adaptation of Fleming's Blofeld trilogy (warning massive spoilers):

I just read on the MI6 HQ forums that, in the December 1, 2014 version of the script, the film ends with Bond saying to Madeleine that they "have all the time in the world" as they drive off in the Aston-Martin.

Dis gunna be good. :woot:

I can confirm this, I have the script and I've been posting on there.

[BLACKOUT]Madeleine Swann is also, more or less, Tracy for Craig's James Bond. They share several obvious similarities, two of which is their relationship beginning off of a pact between 007 and her father involving her and a new spin on the 'clinic' from OHMSS, now at a sort of mountain resort in the snow covered alps and Swann works there. To those who had any doubt, Spectre is as close to an On Her Majesty's Secret Service re-telling as we're going to get.[/BLACKOUT]

If anyone has any questions, I can give answers; cryptically or not if preferred.

I was under the impression the script hadnt actually leaked completely, only at that gawker site i thought.

Are many details given about Bond's battles with Hinx and the snow based action sequence?

Yes and yes, there are three battles total with Hinx.

[BLACKOUT]The first being after Hinx's introduction to the movie (which is pure classic henchman) which leads to a car chase through Rome between Bond in the DB-10 and Hinx in a Jaguar. Second is the snow action setpiece which involves Hinx attempting to abduct Miss Swann but is followed by James in a snowplane. Third is a classic Bond style fight aboard a train.[/BLACKOUT]

Hey, I'm looking for details on blofeld after the new revisions. Like is he called blofeld by name or hinted at? And does he have the scar and or cat? Thanks

With all this news about Spectre, I've been revisiting the Bond films recently starting with Daniel Craig and then going back to Sean Connery. I've mostly forgotten all the earlier Bond flicks anyway, so now is as good a time to start as any.

[BLACKOUT]Some revisions toy with the name ESB, others do not. The one I have skips it but Oberhauser is most definitely one and the same as Blofeld. If you ask me, I think they are toying whether or not to give him that name.

As for the scar, he does not start out having it. However, we do see him caught in an explosion and reappears for the finale with a new take on his disfigurement; scars from his forehead down to his mouth on one side of his face, and missing an eye.[/BLACKOUT]

Not to be a fan boy here but what's the purpose of the character and using spectre if they aren't going to use his name. It seems sloppy, especially when a lot of fans are hoping for ESB to return to the film series. In the other scripts is it like a reveal his name is ESB or just his name from the start?

In one of the leaks
Bond calls him Ernst Stavro Blofeld at the very end when he decides not to kill him.

Though I guess they could have done away with that line in further revisions.

They could also be holding out in case, and which seems almost positive based on some of the scripts, that Bond 25 could be [BLACKOUT]a follow up and ESB may return.[/BLACKOUT]

[BLACKOUT]Its used more as a tease. The character goes by Oberhauser until Bond calls his bluff during a card game, revealing to the audience through snarky dialogue that the villains true past is being orphaned, watching his parents being tortured to death and then being wisked out of the country and adopted by the Oberhausers.[/BLACKOUT]

Yeah I'm certain that Bond 25 will be a spiritual adaptation of [BLACKOUT] You Only Live Twice [/BLACKOUT]

It's kind of interesting how Skyfall, Spectre and Bond 25 seem to shaping up to be based (to varying degrees) on the Fleming's last three novels.

I want to see more of Naomie Harris' Moneypenny. Including field work.

If that holds to be true, I wouldn't at all complain if we see a lair that turns out to be an equal to the [BLACKOUT]Castle of Death. Hell, throw in the squid from the Dr. No novel too while you're at it since that never got used and his entire place could be a deathtrap. lol[/BLACKOUT]

Thanks. :) Sounds like nods to [BLACKOUT]OHMSS, FRWL and dare I say it, DAD.[/BLACKOUT] Is it true that Skis and Snowmobiles are involved in the snow set piece?

No skis or snowmobiles in the script, only a car some landrovers as backup and the plane but obviously needing bystanders and background stuff I wouldnt put it past them to have added them for more dramatics during the setpiece. Based on the scene, I could see it if its something youve heard.

Interesting, what I read said that it started with the plane but continued on snowmobiles, however it might have changed as I also read Cargo plane now Snow plane.
