James Bond: 007 - Spectre - Part 5

Actually, connecting all of the Craig-era main villains/plots via a common mastermind is one idea that I actually LIKE. It's something that's never really been done in this franchise before (even the Connery films never tried to connect Goldfinger to SPECTRE). It's give this era a greater sense of continuity/ongoing story than previous ones.

My problem with the Andrew Scott thing is how predictable it is. Not just that he's an antagonistic rival, but that he turns out to actually be evil and in league with Blofeld. I can just picture a lot of people sitting in the audience and thinking to themselves "Gee, I never saw that one coming." :whatever: Especially since it's Andrew "Jim Moriarity" Scott playing the role.

So now we can call it the JBU. If you know your acronyms you know what it is.

Just because 1 villain out of the 5 villains he had wasn't associated with SPECTRE doesn't mean it wasn't done with Connery. Dr. No, Rosa Klebb/Red Grant, and Emille Largo were still all members of SPECTRE.

I read briefly the first part. Nothing one won't be able to put together from the trailers and within the first act anyway. But that is it. The juicier stuff I will wait for.

Well since there is a revised draft does not mean that everything will happen......is it not consider final draft? There are some stuff on revised draft that do not make sense

I still think the long-lost evil brother part is corny, but the rest sounds okay. So does Monica Bellucci just have a small role then?

What's worse is it already happened in Goldmember, and I thought they were going out of their way to avoid all the stereotypes that those movies poked fun at.

And he has daddy/brother issues, really? I know that Mendes was influenced by Nolan when he made Skyfall. But was he watching the Marvel films this time around and thinking "that Loki guy is a cool villain with his family issues. I can do that to."

I have to say, I was a bit worried when the first round of leaks started, but these new spoilers sound ****ing amazing! The material here is good enough that if Mendes brings his A-Game(we know he will), this film might be right up there with Skyfall in terms of quality.

I always wanted 007 and the name of James Bond to be a name. Pierce Brosnan being the old agent who trained Craig etc. Have him comeback at some point.

Too much grass?

Yes, too much grass. I hate the concept.

That concept/theory ****ing blows immense **** and I don't ever want to see it applied to a Bond film.

Plus Skyfall rather definitively closed the door on that possibility. "James Bond" is his actual name.

I never liked the idea of "James Bond" being a code name, and Skyfall made it definitively obvious it's his real name.

I don't know how I feel about Oberhauser/Blofeld being behind every single Craig villain though.

SPECTRE being the director behind Quantum, and therefore the ultimate boss of Le Chiffre, Mr. White, and Dominic Green, I don't have a problem with, but Silva too? I like the concept of Silva/Rodriguez just being out for his own personal vengeance, not working for someone else. It set him apart from the motivations of Craig's other foes.

I also don't like the concept that all the events of the entire Craig series has been a convoluted way of Blofeld to mess with his foster brother's life because he's jealous. I like my Blofeld megalomaniacal, with global ambitions, to whom Bond is just a nuisance, not his entire motivation.

If James Bond was a codename, did the American do the same thing with Felix Lieter? :p

James Bond is a different person every time, but they all seem to like their Vodka Martini's shaken, not stirred. All like to bed women casually, all like expensive food, cars and gambling. Oh yeah, and more then one of them has a dead wife named Tracy, with a couple of them hinting at a similarly tragic romantic past. Just funny coincidences, nothing more.

In regards to Silva, there doesn't have to be a direct connection. They could do something as simple as saying that Blofeld wasn't directly involved in the events of Skyfall. But perhaps he was giving Silva information, or he provided some of the funding for Silva to set up his hacker network, or he tipped Silva off about the flash-drive that Patrice stole, or something to that effect.

True dat. I was hoping for Silva to be the Goldfinger of Craig's Bond. Auric was never a part of SPECTRE was he? But now even Silva is a part of Blofeld's master plan to one up Bond because of something that happened when they hit puberty.

They never really explained how Silva was directly connected in any of the leaked material, so perhaps it'll be tenuous at best.

Except that we've done the Goldfinger thing before. The outlier film that sticks out from the rest, so it's nothing new. Having ALL of the films be connected, either directly or indirectly, IS something different, and sounds much more interesting to me. And it doesn't really change much since Silva would still have been acting on his own with his own goals/motivations.

If it's true, I think this could be the way to go. Silva had his own goals in Skyfall. He wanted to kill M and bring the service into disrepute. He could still be wholly independent with funding/resources given.

According to someone I know who has read the entire newest/revised leaked screenplay concerning the beginning of the movie [BLACKOUT]the gunbarrel sequence is FINALLY back at the beginning of the film and the pre-title sequence ends with Bond assassinating a member of SPECTRE, the camera zooming into the Octopus logo on the man's SPECTRE ring which begins the main title sequence which will feature vignettes of scenes from Royale, Solace and Skyfall in a throw back to the OHMSS titles sequence.[/BLACKOUT]
