James Bond: Blood Stone

If it does end up sucking (please don't) then it looks like the only game I'll tell my wife to pick up for me for Christmas would be Vanquish.

Haha yea i really hope it doesnt suck. Ill be picking it up the day of release regardless and i dont want to buy a sucky game. I need more Daniel Craig as James Bond and iv watched Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace a billion times. So i need this game to be at least decent.

I know i was a bit confused as to this games release date but it is in fact, tomorrow, November 2nd. I just came from work(Gamestop) and we have them in stock. Ill deff be grabbing this one tomorrow.

I'll be getting it tomorrow afternoon.

5.0 out of 10.

"CLOSING COMMENTS
Blood Stone is not a bad game: it's just a painfully average one. There aren't any majorly broken elements to it, but just because this Stone is relatively polished, doesn't make it a gem. There really isn't anything at all remarkable about it, and even though it's extremely short it still manages to wear out its welcome thanks to its extremely repetitive design. If GoldenEye is indeed the Sean Connery of 007 video games, then Blood Stone is the George Lazenby; not bad, but not good either, and forgettable in almost every way. At just five hours long and lacking in any real innovation or challenge, it won't leave you feeling shaken nor stirred, just shortchanged."

" It’s not exactly the best Bond game to come along, but Bizarre tried an entirely new formula with the game that could bode well for future installments. Craig’s Bond didn’t exactly translate well into a game, especially with the lack of any fresh elements, but it’s expected as gadgets have almost entirely been removed from the series. I must say, I’m excited to see Bond leap into the hands of Bizarre especially if they make another game with much deeper gameplay elements. Sadly, Blood Stone 007 lacks any real depth. It does however contain some simple gameplay that could be a great foundation for future Bond games if expanded upon and fined tuned just a tad bit more. It’s easily the fastest Bond game ever created and for those Bond fans looking for more of Craig in the midst of the fall of MGM, Blood Stone is a great place to find a quick, albeit mediocre fix."

IGN, ouch.

I just bought the game and am installing it to my HDD now.

Maybe I'll pick it up when it's 17 used... and based on all the stellar games out now and coming out by the end of the year... will be in no time.

Okay, so I know absolutely nothing about this game, but for some reason I'm under the impression that it's a racing game. True or false?

False. It has driving elements but its first and foremost a 3rd person, cover based shooter.

I played the first 30 min of it and had a blast. Visually the game looks pretty good. It's not the best game we have seen this year, but Judi Dench and Daniel Craig look pretty damn close to their real life counterparts. The voice acting also seemed to be really good from what i heard in my play time. The controls are really fluid and well implemented. Going from cover to cover is very simple and the gunplay is solid. The take downs look brutal and are a lot of fun to see. The mo cap is spot on. The driving sections of the game are also well done. The vehicles control with a nice mix of arcade and simulation.

I had a lot of fun in my first 30 min so if the rest of the game goes like this i think ill really enjoy the game.

I don't know what the reviews are talking about, the game is damn awesome - I'm a few levels in and its been nothing but good.

I agree man. Iv played it for a few hours and think, at the moment, it's a really fun game. Clearly Bizzare took a lot of cues from Splinter Cell: Conviction and they have done a lot of things better. The takedowns are recreated beautifully in this game. Much more visceral than in SC:C. So far, in my esrly play time, this has been THE Bond game.

Anyone see the launch trailer?

I can't wait to get it, but odds are I'm gonna have to wait till Christmas. Sounds like everyones enjoying it thus far

That launch trailer is awesome, this is my Christmas game!

I wasn't really interested in this game before, but watching that IGN video review actually made me want to give this a rent. They kept emphasizing how average or disappointing it was, but all the action they showed looked really good, and those take downs looked really fluid and brutal.

It seems like a decent Bond game. There hasn't been one in awhile so I like forward to playing this

The reviews seem to make this a rental more than a buy. On the other hand, the Goldeneye remake is getting more favorable reviews.

There's a review someone did on youtube that's way better than what IGN said. I'd post it, but lets just say the reviewer is a fan of the "f" word. :hehe:

I'm definitely getting the Goldeneye remake. Thats gonna be good

Ok i just finished the Istanbul level and unless this game takes a MAJOR dive towards the negative, there is NO way this game deserves a 5 from IGN. That reviewer must have been high as hell when he reviewed this game. As of 2 hours or so in, this is THE Bond game. The chase in the classic Aston Martin is more "Bond" than anything seen in the last 2 films combined.

Yea the take downs are clearly inspired by the take downs from Splinter Cell, but imo, they are better here. Both in look and execution. I dont care what any review says, from what iv played, this has everything a Bond title needs.
