just saw it. really liked it. will watch it again at the weekend

few additional thoughts: was the scene from the trailers cut where mallory says to M "you have any word on bond? " and she replies " he's somewhere in the south china sea"? Or did I miss that ?

also i'm always bummed out when I see they didnt used a take from the trailers which I really liked.. There is a pretty cool shot from Silva when he walks with his henchmen towards bonds hideout where they used an alternate take.

Blood Stone was such an awesome game. I like to think that during the 6 years between QOS and Skyfall that he did the Blood Stone mission as well. Would the rebooted missions of Goldfinger, OHMSS, MR, LTK, GE and DAD work in the 6 year gap?

I just watched it twice yesterday, and I have to say it's one of the best Bond movies ever. Here are some thoughts:

PROS:
Craig- He just delivered the greatest Bond performance in history. He does it all in this film: spy, flirt, seduce, deliver corny one-liners, show disdain for authority, cry, fight, shoot guns, drive, etc. And he did it all very well. He is the most layered, nuanced, complex, and complete Bond ever. He is now tied with Connery as my favorite Bond.

Cinematography- lots of the shots in this movie could be a wallpaper or something. Some of the long takes rock (I would have liked more).

Characterization/acting/supporting characters- everyone's got depth in this movie, it's a very character driven film.

Bardem- best (creepiest and most disturbing) Bond villain ever. I can imagine Ledger's Joker getting creeped out by this guy.

CONS:
Bond girls: underused and non-existent during the 3rd act (I'm not counting M).

Music: sometimes it's great, sometimes it's generic. Could have used the Bond theme more frequently, but it's a step up from QOS music.

3rd act: Silva was underused, some plot holes, and lots of suspension of disbelief (I know it's a Bond film, but still).

Grade: 9/10

I beleive so. Got the impression that she looked like she'd been almost hoisted/tethered into position by Silva's men so she couldnt move away from that large piece of rock; ergo, she didnt drop to the ground when shot, she just slumped.

It's moreso mediocre than a straightforward POS.

It's good, but maybe I'm not as angry about it cause I only paid 20 bucks for it. Oh well.
