Oh my God! 350 million from ONE movie! INSANE! He is going to be a billionaire by the time hes done with the Avatar franchise :wow:

I wonder how much the Sam, Zoe, and Sigourney made. Im guessing all above 10 million...which is great for Sam and Zoe since they're relatively new to hollywood
new hollywood stars dont get 10 million.

plus look when Sam was casted. that was before terminator and before Clash. plus noone of ths movies made money because of him.

there is no way that Sam got 10 million.

Lol @ Cameron making that much.
THat's also the rumored "real" budget of Avatar :hehe:

i have a feeling that they will realese:
- an extended footage fof Neytiri looking at the flying frog.
-Jake in hes human clothes before going in the helicopter
-the hunt scene

i think they will not realese the Earth scenes.

Does the DVD have any extras that contain anything worth a darn or is just more blurry CGI from a bad script and an unoriginal idea?

Dont get me wrong...it made lots of money. Even more than other great films like Transformers 2 and Star Wars Episode 1. That aside, Inception owns it on every level...including visuals.

aha so now that the movie made 2 billion now we are going to lie that Cameron is a bad director who uses shaky cam? blurry CGI?
how desperate will some get?

Inception owns Avatar in visuals? i didnt know that they are both aboutphotorealistic blue 10 feet aliens in the jungle ?

i guess since i use both sides of my brain i dont understand this kind of posts

Um, no...something can have better visuals without being about the same exact subject. For instance, Avatar has better visuals than my grandma's birthday party video, and they arent the same subject matter (though she does have blue hair...hmmm).

The night of Avatar's premier I saw it...I saw it at midnight...and came home complaining that it had blurry CGI. Every time the movie mixed CGI with non CGI on the screen at the same time the 3D got blurry. That has nothing to do with it;s box office take, and I complained about that night.

Avatar was a dumb movie...and not even a good dumb movie (like Die Hard, for instance...or Flash Gordon, which is the most awesome movie ever made). To pretend it was anything more just because it cost a fortune to make that blurry 3D cartoon is absurd.

People really don't 'get' Avatar. How unfortunate for them.

I just Watched the TV Spot!! Felt all Happy Again. :woot: :woot: :woot:

That's weird, because I can think of at least two previous big movies that had a virtually identical plot and themes. If people don't get the same story told over and over again, maybe Hollywood should try something new?

i dont think he meant that they dont understand the story.

they dont understand why the movie was made how it was made.

It made close to 3 billion dollars. *Most* people obviously liked it. Box office might not equate quality but it does equate popularity.

How the film affects so many people with it's message. How we should be respecting other peoples cultures and not bombing them for their natural resources. Sorta like the current climate of the world right now, so many people think that this is wrong and film depicts what they are feeling. People are also taken by the message of the Navi and their relationship with the planet how we need to live in balance with our own planet.

The New tv spot showed some of the new footage. This is what i caught. :woot:

  • pinkish glowing plant
  • Jake and neytiri playing around in the forest
  • Jake spins a toy solar system (abandoned school scene?!)
  • Purple flying creature hanging from ceiling.

Cameron came up with this back in the late 80s or early 90s, and the subject matter wasn't really all that aped like it has been for the past couple decades. Technology couldn't catch up to what he wanted to do, so hey.

Liked the look of the new footage, but 8 mins wont get me back in the cinema, I hope he does more for the BD release as well.

Great movie though dont care what anyone says, Cameron is a master.

I'd want to go just for the 3D experience again and the added footage will be a bonus.

Maybe then there won't be so many people i'd be able to get better seats! :cmad: :oldrazz:

the BD version will have every deleted scene that was rendered and the pre-viz shots. so deleted scenes that were not finished.

the reason they are not i the new cut is becase................ they are crazy :oldrazz:

This has nothing to do with what I said.

My point is that there was very little about this movie that is difficult to grasp, and the public has been exposed to it at least a couple of times before this movie was made. The themes aren't all that complex. At all.
