opening weekend = 35 million

*******

final domestic gross = 80 million

final overseas gross = 95 million

If there is a god, it should beat what Ghost Rider did, but as GR shows, box office take is not a sign of quality. I heard more positive word of mouth about this film anyway.

40 to 50 million sounds right to me. There will be midnight showings, so that may help.

Only ten R-rated movies have made over 40 million opening weekend.

Seven of those ten were sequels and summer releases.

Opening Weekend: $37m

Domestic: $93m

Foreign: $68m

Worldwide: $161m

I can't believe this movie is coming out next week. I just ordered my tickets for the midnight showing, so it should be a great time.

I think this movie will do very well. Word of mouth and reviews will give it good longevity. I'll say 36 million opening, but I think it will continue to make good money until the end of April. So I really can't guess to the end gross.

I think this movie will do really well. It's getting a good marketing push it seems (everytime I turn on the t.v. they have a tv spot). The early reviews have been good so I think it will have a good opening weekend and good overall run. I'm guessing in the $30-40 million range for the opening weekend.

I gonna be extremely optimistic and say

Worldwide : 300 Millions

Im looking forward to seeing how much this makes this weekend and weeks to come.

I say 20-30 Mill the first weekend. I doubt it'll do the same weekend gross as GR did, remember this is R-rated.

300 is going to be astronomical, at least where the college crowd is concerned.

I have a feeling this film is going to be big. Everywhere I go, people are excited to see it. It probably won't make anything less than $20 million its opening weekend.

Hope 300 makes it high on that list. Looks like WB is king of the rated R movies, so make some more. :woot:

I usually check boxofficeguru.com The predictions are up...and I think its just a little too safe. 38m? Seems low to me.

i know tons of people who are DTING to see this movie....

im voting around 60mil

Yeah I think the college crowd will provide a big showing. I don't know about other demographics tho.

Maybe my opinion is skewed because I'm on a college campus, but everyone I know is going to see this. I think it'll be close to $50 million, probably like $46 million, something like that.

I'm seeing it tomorrow in imax.

There's quite a lot of buzz goin' around so i'm gon' say 40-50mil opening weekend.

I got the same "vibe" for this movie as I did for X3. X3 proved to have a huge opening and then died out because it was dissapointing. But this movie...I think it will have a huge (not X3 huge) opening and the difference is that it won't dissapoint. On a larger scope, the only thing really hurting its box-office take at this point is its rating of course...and its not Summer nor is it a holiday weekend. If websites are betting safe as if they actually are betting money on the opening...then I understand the low predictions...but my gut tells me its gonna blow those expectations away...50-60 OW sounds about right to me.
