Variety says that Universal Pictures has set up David Auburn time-travel thriller pitch The Archive, with the Proof playwright to pen the script as a directing vehicle for James Mangold.

Scott Stuber will produce with Cathy Konrad. Konrad will produce through Tree Line Film, in which she partnered with Mangold on such films as 3:10 to Yuma and Walk the Line.

Auburn adapted his 2001 play into the screen version of Proof and also scripted The Lake House for Warner Bros.

I like Mangold's work so this one has my interest.

I guess it will be more of a sci-fi thriller than action blockbuster.
