James is great at playing Victor's maniacal charm, his psychosis and torment and also his soft side. So great to see; I wish more people would give the film a chance.

Victor Frankenstein was a mediocre movie, but McAvoy's acting was easily the best part of it.

Victor Frankenstein was a mediocre movie, but McAvoy's acting was easily the best part of it.

I enjoyed it a lot. It's not perfect, but far from mediocre. It was Fox that killed it, plus the critics were really set to hate the film even before watching it (I read a critic moaning that he was supposed to review VF, and not another Oscar-baity film). Anyway, my opinion but I'll stick to it.

Apparently in an earlier version of the Victor Frankenstein script, the story and Turpin's character were more fleshed out than what we ended up with. I don't know if it's the studio and/or the director who is responsible for the poor execution. The pacing was frantic at times, and I got the impression that some important scenes were cut (both trailers featured footage of Victor, Igor and a baby that didn't make it to the theatrical release, and I'm almost certain Mark Gatiss' role was originally meant to be more than just an extra with one line of dialogue).

Really liking how Charles seem purpose-driven and nurturing in this. Really cements on his journey from depressed Charles intervened by the events of DOFP to professor X

James was the best thing in the Apocalypse teaser, hands down.

In hindsight, and especially seeing what they're doing with Magneto, I think FC did Charles a huge favour by not completing his character arc in that first movie. I bet he'll end up having the overall best-realised arc in this trilogy, even if I didn't particularly care for the way he was written in DoFP.

While certainly possible i wouldn't totally bank on alot of what you said there

Personally i don't think magneto will be leaving alone because unless certain characters die i suspect the surviving group of mutants will split between Magneto and Xavier

And singer may possibly throw them into the OT black outfits at the end for all we know

I see Quicksilver going with Magneto

But Storm & Angel? Their moving into Graymalkin Lane in Westchester 100%

But Singer in a yahoo interview specifically said when asked by a fan about colorful costumes hinted that in X-Men Apocalypse fans would get what they wanted and that's where I think it happens during that epilogue with chuck in the suit.


That shot definitely wasn't from 1983... I'm thinking 85 or 86

I can see Storm joining. Angel has always struck me as something of a loner. He may associate with the X-Men, but he may not neccessarily join them.

I think archangel will either be killed off or will join magneto at the end because this angel is not the same angel who joined the X-Men in the comics and singer has made that clear several times so its almost like this is the archangel version of angel
