Swamp Thing James Wan is bringing Swamp Thing to DC's streaming service!

Awkward timing...

Did DC throw that teaser together an hour ago or something?

This is an odd day of news for this, LOL! So, first we find out we're losing 3 episodes and that for some reason, the crew was sent home. Then they give us a trailer and a picture of Swamp Thing. No doubt trying to put out the PR fire for the very public way this episode news has come out, but it's still a mess of a day.

I will watch the teaser when I get home.

Damage control or not, that footage got me hyped. I hope cutting 3 episodes doesn’t affect the show too much.

Despite the behind the scenes news I’m still very excited for the show and I hope they work it out so we can get future seasons. So going to remain positive.

I don't get why WB created a standalone DC streaming service instead of rolling out a streaming service that included most of WB's film and TV libraries along with the original DC series all at once. ATT/WB just sounds so scatterbrained with their streaming future.

It was a nice teaser.

I hope the season ends better than how I found Titans' first season ended.

Lol at DC’s damage control. That said I like what im seeing. Swamp Thing was the show on this app that i was looking forward to most so im bummed to hear the production’s a mess.

Hoping for the best though.

Not a good time to be scatterbrained when the competition is ramping up.

I wasn't sold on this initially, but that teaser was perfect. The effects look great and I'm glad the suit is practical.

Feels like there's way too many cooks in the kitchen until they see another company doing it better than changing plans on the fly.

We’re so unsure of whether this is worth making or not, we’re cutting three episodes to reduce the cost... but here! Have a look at this teaser for the show we have littl confidence in!

Oh, Warner Bros. Your dumb is eternal.

If there's 1 show I didn't want cancelled it was this one. Ugh...

1) This seems like a streaming service aimed more towards people with tablets that like to read comics.

Exactly... I'd like to add I think they kind of put themselves against the wall having to aim for 4 shows at once on top of not having a pre-existing library of content to pull from.

2) When is WB going to stop pulling the trigger on projects then pulling back and screwing them up? They just can't help themselves despite change in ownership. An infrastructure of decision making and budget planning needs to be in place. They're realizing they need to roll the dice to break even but if this is a response to Hellboy's boxoffice when's the kneejerking going to end?

3) At least they didn't have designs to mesh the 4 shows together for some sort of miniseries like the Defenders or Offenders. So I suppose that was 1 positive in case they had to bail on what very well could've been their strongest series before it even gets a chance to air. :whatever:

At the very least they are taking risks by making shows that aren’t Batman-centric.

DC Universe streaming service is for people who want to see Original shows based on DC Comics and those who want to read DC Comics online, it's not supposed to compete with Netflix or Disney+.

WB were in process of buyout by AT&T, which was not a smooth process as there were legal hurdles, Disney's buyout of Fox assets went ahead smoothly, that was not the case here, I 'm sure y'all know this right ? Which caused (among other factors) delay in planning and launch of WB's streaming service.

But, DC Universe streaming was going ahead as they planned, why stop that ?
