Swamp Thing James Wan is bringing Swamp Thing to DC's streaming service!

That would be a bummer as I really loved Doom Patrol!!!

I'm starting to see why Netflix is the go to for everybody in the industry. They got deep pockets and say yes to everything. You have to basically try to get your ass cancelled with them.
Netflix has actually started to become quite annoying too. Cancelling series like “Santa Clarita diet” with a cliffhanger ending is extremely obnoxious. They still have a lot of content though but Disney+ will give them a run for their money with the franchises they have. As for Swamp thing, such a shame, it looked to be by far the best DC show. Meh, first Pattinson becomes batman then this.....Whatever...

Amazon will buy Netflix up in the next couple of years, and it’ll end up being them vs Disney in the streaming stakes.

All other streaming services will fall by the wayside.

HBO should pick up both this and Doom Patrol if the DCU is indeed shutting down at some point.

So what i gather at the moment is that DC products are messed with constantly because of stupid bureaucracy...god damn it.

The Swamp Thing pilot was freaking amazing, damn shame how this turns out.

really disappointed with the cancellation. i feel like $80 million budget for a 13 episode TV show is a lot tho.

I bet the whole DC service didnt gross that much

What’s upsetting is that lots of subscribers will now cancel their membership because of this.

Not even going to waste my time starting this if it's already been cancelled after 1 episode, WB/DC strikes again, not even surprised anymore to be honest.

Well they should probably be worrying more about their subscribers. Being wishy washy and unreliable isnt a good way to run a new and niche streaming service.

What is clear, is that you should not expect anything more than CW production quality from their shows.
HBO's Watchmen has some pretty great looking production values.

This is why I'm praying for Watchmen to be a hit. It might be too late for Swamp Thing, but HBO is probably our only hope for some proper production values for any DC shows going forward, so they need to see the value and potential in DC properties.

Watchmen and Swamp Thing have 2 completely different production companies. The thing you have to remember about WB, is that it is a world of fiefdoms. Swamp Thing is completely separate, even more than Doom Patrol and Titans.

This sucks but you can’t worry about stuff you can’t control. I’m just going to look forward to the next nine.

Sad news! really enjoyed the pilot. I heard they're reevaluating the DCU ap poll too. :(

North Carolina's, from the sound of it.

How? Did NC back out of some subsidy deal they made for the show filming here?

An "accounting error" (apparently some necessary paperwork not being filed by the NC government) resulted in DC/WB not getting a $40mil tax rebate they were promised for shooting there, which was supposed to cover half the budget.
