Jason Bourne

Watched this latest Bourne film a few weeks ago,did not go to see it at cinema release owing to feeling a bit skeptical about how it could be worth it.

Was a good film follow up but not sure it outshines the previous films.

The team behind the film know what they're doing on a most basic level, so the film isn't bad, but it really lacks the charm and energy that the original trilogy had.

Is Vikaander supposed to be an American in this? Sounds like she spent her life in Scandinavia.

I've just finished watching the initial trilogy, does this movie just tie directly into it and ignore Legacy, or are there things from Legacy that also tie into this?

Finally saw this last night, obviously I'm long removed from the hype that I guess led to some of the disappointment for some fans. It stuck to the familiar Bourne formula but I felt it added a couple of extra layers to Bourne and it's a shame we didn't get to find out where Alicia Vikander's character was going to lead, as it felt the whole time like there was more to her backstory. Funnily enough the endgame for the villain in the movie was pretty similar to Blofeld in SPECTRE, another spy movie that didn't quite live up to the enormous fan expectations at the time due to the previous film being so highly rated, but that I enjoyed when I watched it last week. .

It was a shame they killed Nicky off so quickly as there was clearly more to her and Bourne as was hinted at in Ultimatum, and I felt like they could have expanded on Vincent Cassel's assassin a bit more, like him and Bourne having an exchange verbally over the reasons they had for wanting each other dead. Overall though I thought it was good and the 2 chase sequences were the best in the series to date.

So is their a chance that Matt Damon will return for another Bourne film?! I kinda want to see where Alicia Vikander's character is trying to manipulate Jason, only to be a pawn for Jason to bring down the C.I.A. Black ops division. I think Bourne can still work as a franchise they just need a good story like the books.

It’s still a viable franchise so I think Damon could return. I remember they talked of a crossover with Jeremy Renner’s character but I don’t think anyone even remembers that movie anymore lol

I remember hearing that once producer Frank Marshall is finished with Indiana Jones 5, they’re going to look at another Bourne.

Last movie was pretty bad, so I don't really care if they do another one, Iol

They can make Jason Bourne a codename and different people can adopt it from time to time. :o

I liked the last movie, even though it felt completely unnecessary and offered nothing new. I was excited because I thought Greengrass and Damon coming back after years of refusing to would be because they had something really fresh and original to say. There were bits and pieces of interesting ideas, yet overall it pretty much stuck to the formula once again. But, boy, do I want to see Greengrass directing more action flicks. I love the energy and style he brings.
