Civil War Jeremy Renner confirmed for Civil War

hawkeye got the short end of the stick in the Avengers but not on the second one. he was one of the highlights. Clint has come a lonfg way and he isn't just the marksman agent with the dry sense of humor. AOU really humanized him. It's really difficult to flesh out every MCU hero now that there are so mnay of them. I think they have done overall a good job with the Hawk.

I think we saw the staff! Wasn't that what he was twirling in the leaked D23 footage?

that's pretty cool
didn't old blind Hawkeye use a staff in 'Old Man Logan'?

Some more stuff.

- Scarlet Witch has created a surrogate family with the Avengers, but she’s still wrestling with whether or not her powers do more harm than good.

– Barton is still wrestling with his home life and a his desire to be in the fight.

– The friendship between Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch has grown stonger.

– Renner says it’s not hard for Hawkeye to choose a side because he’s a “brass tacks kind of guy.”

– Scarlet Witch and Vision have a unique relationship because both their powers come from an Infinity Stone.

– She’s going to get to do some things with her powers we didn’t see in Age of Ultron.

– Scarlet Witch no longer feels bitter towards Stark over her family’s death.

– Neither actor has pushed for a spinoff film.

– Barton is now a master with a bow as well as a staff. There will also be different tips and arrow tricks because he’s not trying to kill anyone.

– They see adding Ant-Man and Black Panther as a way of expanding the world of the MCU.

– Olsen jokes that because her character has superpowers, her training is nil. She does work with a choreographer so that her moves look better than the pre-viz, but ultimately she acknowledges that if Scarlet Witch wanted it would be “a, b and c and you’d all be dead.”

– There won’t be any mind control in this movie.

I do like that they are doing a close relationship with Clint and Wanda.

I look forward Wanda and Clint's friendship in Civil War. His role as grandpa/mentor figure for Wanda was one of the best parts of his character in AOU.

The last I saw Mike, Ultron was sitting on him... :sly:

That's a cool costume. If imagine the one we'll get in Infinity War will be even better

Renner was at a convention today and apparently he said he was confused about Hawkeye being in love with Widow to having a wife and family in AoU (he said "blame Joss"), he would do a Hawkeye/Black Widow movie in a heartbeat, and he knows what happened in Budapest, but its not for children's ears lol.

Yuck. Can't stand Jeremy as Hawkeye and this just cemented my opinion.

He went from calling the Widow a ****e to wanting his character to be with hers in a loving relationship. Get up outta here with that B.S.

I can't stress how grateful I am that didn't happen considering it would've been the most boring relationship to ever be on the big screen. I don't care if they were canon in the comics. It'd still be a dull plot line.

I may be the one person on the planet who never thought Hawkeye and Black Widow were in love in Avengers.

Wow

I may be the one person on the planet who never thought Hawkeye and Black Widow were in love in Avengers.

I wasn't sure about him, but BW def. seemed to be in love with Hawkeye. It did seem to be the way Marvel was leaning initially. I just think its awesome that we got Renner's true reaction there. I just saw the vid, it was very funny indeed.

I never saw anything to indicate they were in love, tbh. Though for the most part I get annoyed with the fact that we can't have strong friendships between men and women in fiction without it turning into romance.

Well, that's what we ended up getting. Both with BW and Hawkeye and BW and Cap, and it seems like they are doing it again with Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch.

Has this bring in love thing between Clint and Nat in the Avengers movie been confirmed or is it just wild speculation? I honestly didn't see any romance between them.

I really like that Clint is doing this mentor thing, bringing dangerous/damaged people back to the good side (Widow, and then the Maximovs)

Whedon has been clear in his intent for them to be best friends. He said he likes the idea that a guy & a girl can be besties without getting into sexy time.

Hasn't been confirmed but Renners response is literally the first time someone other than Whedon has indicated anything either way. He also confirmed last year that Hawkeyes story ended up differently than what it was going to be originally but gave no specifics. Of course I also think Hawkeye was supposed to have his own film (BW too) and obviously that didn't happen.

I think it ended differently in that he didn't die. As for the love affair being confirmed, since Joss is the one that wrote Avengers and their relationship and he insists it's always been platonic then it's been the opposite of confirmed.

There was never any word of there being a Hawkeye solo film and BW has always been more of a "maybe" and even then only after Avengers came out. Though it seems to be what Renner now wants. Though he's said before he didn't. Maybe that was when he thought he'd be the one heading up future Bourne and MI movies and that doesn't look to be happening. He's now said he's open to a Netflix series.

Oh, I'd love a Hawkeye netflix series. I'd even take he being part of the Agents of SHIELD team.
