You know Lex has a point, the Devil didn't come from below, he originally came from heaven.

They are both characters in a lab coat... That's the only connection possible o be made.

No, 1) they're both tampering with things they clearly don't fully comprehend, 2) They're both campy as hell, and 3) they both have ridiculous hairdos...

...do i need to continue.....:cwink:

Part of the reason I found it jarring is because this was different than the Lex I was expecting. Especially, since they seemed to downplay the comic book elements when discussing their approach.

I agree

You know insulting Jessie's campy Luthor is like insulting Hackman's and Spacey's Lex Luthor.

Just saying. :o

just dont know why the trailers only showcase those aspects.

Probably so the audience would get surprised to his dual personality performance.

it would surprise me if he wasnt always comical, until he gets arrested and shaves his head or losses his hair.

For a genius level intellect, it may not be easy to socialize with people, so he goes the making jokes route to break the ice so to speak. Or maybe its to throw people off of his evil schemes. :)

Plus he always wears long sleeves to hide that Metropolis skyline tattoo on his arm :o

Yeah, his speech to Senator Holly Hunter in the second trailer. Or his weird/creepy hand-gestures, or his sadistic smirk when Superman is bowing before him, etc.

yes those hand gestures and smirks are very evil i get it.

"Hey Senator, you know the best writer in America is Chris Terrio?"

I think Eisenberg kinda has to play Lex this way. Bruce and Clark are already two hyper-masculine stoic dudes. This Lex is more interesting than playing another version of that. My only critique is the "mad scientist" angle. I don't mind chipper Lex Luthor as long as he's still competent and calculating.

The shot where Lex is standing in the lab coat, reminds me of that mad scientist who is torturing Electro in ASM2.

Ugh, may I say how much I hate that shot of Lex? I think it was the cutting and music of that scene too but man oh man that shot of him pissed me off for some reason.
I was flicking through the trailer again last night and realized that if you pause it as soon as that shot comes on see looks kinda angry.

I'm sure it'll work better in the actual film.

Snyder ain't Marc Webb for god sake.....

I can see why he doesn't like it. It does look a little cheesy.

I don't mind the mad scientist aspect being used. It's a part of him from the comics, and his evolution in the film will closely resemble his evolution in the comics as well.

Yeah, personally that 'bring it on' gesture he did with his hands looked super cheesy. I kind of wished he just had his hands behind his back, fully confident and knows exactly what he's doing.

Exactly what he should have done! Hopefully they are gonna use a different take.
