This scene has been playing over and over in my head for the past 24 hours:

And every time, I think...... "Yeah..... he's Lex Luthor."

"Did I adequately answer your condescending question?"

The delivery was so good.

I think the "optimists" are pointing out how this can/could work and countering the opinions of those that are anti-Jesse.
Of course it can work ... we'll find one way or the other in 2016. :)

This notion that Zack Snyder is intentionally picking the worst people imaginable for his roles is just ridiculous. He picked him for a reason ... and if his past is indicative, he's not the worst person in the world at casting for big roles.

Totally agree.

You could say the same of the "feel good" and "optimist" posts of supporters who assure "everyone will see how "good" Eisenberg's crap casting is. . . . .

At least we base our opinions on his work, as opposed to baseless reads on his personality people like you get from random pictures of him.

Did you...did you say 2015?

:awesome:

I did...

It's actually EASY imagining Eisenberg with the Lex trademark bald head and it's kind of creepin' me out, haha. Make no mistake, I think Jesse can knock this out of the park.

Hey, it is still possible it could come out in 2015 after all....right....? Right?

I'm not really a fan of this casting by any means and think they have an uphill battle and a lot to prove with this one but I really do hope it's good...I hope it's really good, all, even if I have my doubts right now...I'm still trying to have some faith.

:)

There's a snowballs chance in hell that it comes out in 2015. Granted, that is an extraordinarily unlikely scenario so I wouldn't make any bets on it.

Only thing I could see is if Disney moves Star Wars back to May 2016 ... then WB could move up to December ... otherwise, no chance.

He has this really almost creepy demeanor to him that could really work. I have a ton of faith in Eisenberg.

With all due respect, I don't think Snyder or the studio goes into the hiring of one of the most important casting choices of their recent and future success's of their most anticipated and benchmark franchise thinking "Man, we are going to have an uphill battle with this one...sign him up."

No, they go into this saying "We got 'em. Sign him up, buckle the seatbelt AND LETS F***** DO THIS."

Superman is white, and should continue to be white until he no longer works anymore that way.

Same goes for all the characters of their respective individual appearances.

And I'm not upset...maybe a little irritated that people seem oblivious to what should be obvious. I'm actually a little hungry right now, truthfully. Lol.

I'm glad I didn't upset you. I wasn't trying to.

But you should realize that in saying we shouldn't start changing the race of some characters now (when it's appropriate and won't otherwise change that character like with Perry), you are saying that many casts should be all white or have the vast majority of characters be white. Comics are not the most inclusive and this would be the result of this "no change" thinking.

I think the funniest thing I've seen someone say about Jesse on here was calling him a manlet. I had never heard that word before and when I looked it up, I couldn't stop laughing. :lmao:

Lol, I had to look that one up too. Funny word. Although, it doesn't fit Jesse.

**** yeah.

Great scene. Great acting. That gives me so much hope for him as Lex. In fact, it hypes me up a bit. :woot:

You see, that's what makes me more intrigued by the casting. Its the potential for him to show us what he hasnt show us before. The people who are supporting the casting seem to be touting his work in Social Network as a guide for what his Lex would be , but I really don't think they should make that assumption.

I really think he may or at least has the potential of, giving us something different than we've seen from him and from the Lex character. I'm actually hopeful he's gonna go against the expectations of those who support him on the grounds of them casting him because he can pull off the intellect part and those who think he doesn't fit the Lex mold. I actually think he may turn in a creepy and possibly even more likeable Lex then everyone is assuming.

Since the news broke and with my free time, I am now noticing that I am studying the guy and he comes off in a way where if feels you need to see more and more and more of him.

His presence doesn't match the way he can have a stranglehold on a conversation or his ability to snag your attention and keep your attention and that's fascinating. The word I keep using is unique and Eisenberg certainly glows into his own way of doing things. I think his Lex can have that same effect.

Eisenberg's Lex has at least one building in Metropolis and his name branding is around the place. He's ready to go. He can get public goodwill via rebuilding efforts, and publicly and privately antagonise Superman.

Indeed. I hope they have him do exactly that.

We all were worried that Batman was going to make Superman look like a fool in this. We all can relax. That's Jesse's job.
