Yup. It seems I was right. "A greater threat" would be whatever Lex is meddling with.

Ah, that article was a great read. This is good stuff. I like it.

This sounds like the Lex from Lex Luthor:Man Of Steel. The appearance of a righteous no-nonsense businessman in front of the public. Very compassionate towards his employees.

but a corrupt and calculating criminal behind close doors.

Yes. And it's pretty fitting.

Taking the reins of the family business after the untimely death of his indomitable father, the prodigal son boldly changed the direction of the firm from oil and heavy machinery to tech.
I wonder if they plan on doing the 'Lex killed his father for his company' angle. If so I like it, it makes Lex seem more ruthless.

When pressed, the youthful mogul will only hint. “It’s about safety. This is a product that will protect you, and everyone, from threats you don’t even know about yet. I don’t want to scare anybody… much. But there are a lot of threats out there, and they’re here today.”
Threat's like...Superman :woot:

I can already hear Lex's spiel about how Superman poses a threat to everyone, but don't worry because he is looking out for our best interests, etc.

Great Article!

I think they're almost definitely going that route. Would be cool if, what with Batman being the world's greatest detective, he'd long ago figured out that Lex killed his own parents. And Bruce is driven crazy by the thought that while he'd give absolutely anything to see his parents again, Lex willingly sacrificed his parents for his own advancement. Would be a cool dynamic to display some simmering hatred between the two.

Alexander Luthor Jr. Just like in the comics. Nice.

Yeah and such a revelation would really say EVERYTHING about Lex that the audience needs to know...that beneath the facade of a good and caring man is a complete monster.

That all his talk about 'saving humanity' from a big threat is frankly just BS, because if Lex doesn't give a crap about his own parents and is willing to murder them for personal gain...then you KNOW he doesn't give a crap about anybody else.

So no amount of trying to appeal to his 'better nature' will work because he doesn't have one. At the end of the day, Lex is a complete sociopath who only cares about one person...himself.

It's like Superman said in All Star. If Lex actually gave a damn about saving the world, he would've done it years ago.

Where's everyone getting the impression that Luthor killed his dad? Must be going over my head.

It's just this bit from the Luthor Bio on Fortune

Taking the reins of the family business after the untimely death of his indomitable father, the prodigal son boldly changed the direction of the firm from oil and heavy machinery to tech.
The whole thing about Lex's dad dying an 'untimely death' just has us speculating if they are going with the whole 'killed his father for his company' route.

The article twice makes special mention of the untimely and unexpected death of his father. People are just sorta connecting the dots.

People just brain-storming given that the 'young Luthor, who inherits his company is exactly like Smallville ... where he also killed his father.

That, and there's that subtle tone of Lex downplaying his own father's genius and kinda speaking lowly of him. I just think, with the untimely nature of his father's death, and the fact that some variations of Luthor have been known to have killed their parents in the comics, it's reasonable grounds for speculating.

Or it could mean his father died maybe in the destruction of Metropolis. Therefor fueling his rage and hate towards Superman.

Sr. died in 2000, so that wouldn't be the case.

The Black Zero event disrupted the space time continuum and sent shock waves that killed Lex Luthor's father

Oh didn't see the article earlier (wouldn't load on mobile), my mistake. Radio, seems like it's viral marketing.

Wow... All interesting and well done little piece of "faux" reporting. I wonder if Terrio wrote it with input from Jesse?

I think the intimation is that Lex offed his poppa to secure his place as the undisputed head of Lexcorp. The stuff about him being skeptical od benevolence, worrying about totalitarianism coming in the guise of protection (projecting much, Lex? ;) ) tells us that this is a Lex with his extreme Libertarianism/ Humanist philosophy from many comic book interpretations, or at least this is the cover Lex tells himself to justify all his actions.

Also, notice the name dropping of both Wayne Enterprises ANDof Ted Kord's company. And yes, I think it would be smart if either Bruce knows about Lex's dad's death being something Luthor was responsible for, or if Bruce learns it in the course of the film. The former makes more sense to me. I can't see Bruce sitting on such info. He'd have outed Lex by now if so. Again... All pretty interesting.

So is he bald or not in this film?
