The answer is simple: ignore the wiki that ignores what actually happens in the movies. The movies show a Cap who is *not peak human*, so trying to force the status from the comics on him is going to produce incompatibility.

I'd still say based on everything I've seen of MCU Cap so far that I'd put him in the middle between 616 Cap and Ultimate Cap in terms of power level. Ultimate Cap can bench press a car and still not be maxing himself completely out(maybe 2 cars would). MCU Cap seems like maybe with every bit of strength he has he might accomplish the same thing but it'd be his utter limit even if he could manage it.

People get so dramatic on here at times... He can be all of those things and still keep his power under wraps/not talk about with people. Also, what makes you think he'd be handled differently if his series came first?

Because we are getting Melissa Rosenberg's interpretation first, and Cage's series has to fit around that. If it was the other way around, I'd be fine.

Right, because Marvel is completely hands off and is allowing her to completely ruin your precious Luke Cage. :whatever:

Obviously she's going to be working with Marvel and probably the showrunner of Luke Cage's series to make sure it's faithful and not going against anything that they have planned. I'm just going to try and ignore that last sentence of your post...

Well Coker only signed on long after Rosenberg was added, and reused many of her old scripts for the new show.

Look, I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic, but what I'm hearing about character descriptions from Colter doesn't exactly have me over the moon.

Confirmed! Marvel Drops AKA From Jessica Jones Title

Comicbook.com can confirm that Marvel has dropped "AKA" from the title of their Jessica Jones show that stars Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad).

Earlier today, a screenshot (view below) of Netflix's placeholder page for their upcoming Marvel series AKA Jessica Jones revealed that the title had been slightly altered.

Comicbook.com reached out to Marvel and they confirmed to us that the title has been changed to Marvel's Jessica Jones.

Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell's Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need... especially if they're willing to cut her a check.

Marvel's Jessica Jones will debut later this year on Netflix.

At the very least, I'm sure we'll see something substantial on or by SDCC.

About time they got rid of the AKA.

I could see it either way. The comic book was called "Alias." Obviously, they couldn't do that for the show without causing confusion. The A.K.A. was a tribute to that. But it was also fairly clunky.

The Jon Bernthal / Punisher press release confirms the show is now just simply 'Marvel's Jessica Jones'

Wait what? Shane as the Punisher?

Awesome!

So two Walking Dead alums are Punisher, Norman Reedus voiced him in an Iron Man anime and now Shane.

Anyway, I came in here to ask if anyone knew what AKA stood for?

AKA stands for "Also Known As." It was a reference to the comic book Alias, which obviously they couldn't use for the title of the show because of another fairly recent show that used the same title.

Starring Movie Elektra no less. So any chance that we see Punisher on this show as well?

Ah ok. I thought it meant something else, like Alias K... A... or A... K.. Alias or something to that effect.

:cwink:

This. And I've seen some people on these forums using AKA incorrectly, as if it were just a substitute for ie or eg.

Correct: Jewel aka Jessica Jones.

Incorrect: There are plenty of vigilantes in the MCU, aka Punisher.

Trying to avoid the curse of "AKA Pablo" it seems. Oh well.

"Jessica Jones" is catchier than "AKA Jessica Jones". For marketing that goes a long way.

What is the hold up with this? It seems like it's been forever since anything happened. Work faster, dammit! :cmad:

We gotta be getting close to hearing production wrapped or something! I thought Agents of Shield Season 2 would help with the wait, but I don't think I'm even going to finish it, its so dull

the series premieres what, in the spring? Does DD season 2 start then, too?

They should be close to finishing production. We should hear something soon about JJ wrapping up and DD or Luke Cage getting started.

Assuming the show drops in November / December as reported, we should be getting a teaser last August, maybe? Then a full on trailer in October

Yeah, Daredevil filmed July to December, JJ started filming in February so should be nearing the end in the next few weeks.

And, more speculation on my part, but I think LC will start before DDS2 since Coker signed in March and DDs2 wasn't confirmed 'til late April. (but there was only about 4 weeks between them, so you never know)

Yeah, they've not been specific as to whether LC starts before DD. I'd be in heaven if they came out a month or two apart from each other...and then CA: CW comes out a week or so later (while AoS is coming out once a week!).
