^Nice. Cavill's not the only one who can do that trick. ;) Although I think Cage, while not susceptible to being burned by regular fire would need to be mind full of his internal body heat being raised to lethal levels. His skin being impervious doesn't necessarily mean all his insides are similarly resistant. Of course they may not even address this on the show.

I think there's a way to split the difference. Have him appear normal skinned for the most part, but appear purple when he reveals who he is to someone (who he's about to mind-control). I agree that, at the end, if he's depowered (or dead, frankly), he should appear purple.

I think it'll be similarly kept to a minimum the same way showing us Matt's world-on-fire vision in DD was kept short. Just touch upon it briefly and then move on.

I'm liking how the colour schemes fit with the tones Daredevil had. Especially the windows.

When do you guys think we'll be getting our first trailer? It's out in this winter right?

Here's a really good interview with Jeph Loeb:

We Asked Marvel's Head of Television About Everything From 'Agent Carter' to 'Iron Fist' — And He Answered

Good to hear that there will be a sense in continuity between the netflix shows in the sense that things like the police station and the hospital will be the same between shows if they're in the same neighbourhood. And the New York Bulletin will pop up in more of the shows and even in the movies.

Yeah, I think that was a good amount of detail about Jessica Jones as far as tone goes. We know so little about it so far.

Psychological thriller? Like Girl with a Dragon Tattoo? or Black Swan? looking forwardd...

i am getting a bit excited for this. wish we had a release date and more info.

Benids talks a bit about this show (not like he'd say anything bad...):

I know I’ve been very low-key on talking about to Jessica Jones TV show but I think I have to stop doing that because I can’t hold it any longer. I’m going to burst.

The show is so good. I have seen the first couple of episodes and because i didn’t work on it directly i can say this with full no ego fanfare: i loved it!!

and believe me, i was going to be the hardest on it. harder than any of you.

jessica is a part of my DNA. A bad jessica jones show would have hurt me deeply.

BUT it is faithful and lively and everything that I could personally have wanted from the show. the mean streets of marvel netflix from a different perspective than matt’s but at the same time… it all fits. just like the comics on their best day. and just like Netflix DD, the look of the show is cracklin’ noir but with its own palette.

i did not work on the show because I’m working on Powers, and I can’t be everywhere, and also the show was ALWAYS in very very very good hands. I had read the very first drafts of Melissa Rosenberg’s pilot when it was at ABC and i was so flattered by her faithfulness and just getting why we made the book in the first place. i met with the assembled writer’s room and had the surreal experience of finally being in a room where i knew the answers to people’s question.

krysten ritter is soooo good. and michael colter. wait until you see michael colter. the casting of luke cage, in my opinion, and have said this to everyone behind the scenes, is as strong and spot on as the casting of tony stark. its probably the hardest to cast and they got it. perfect.

i can’t wait to see the rest and i can’t wait for you to see it too. i’m VERY proud to have my name on it. and i loved emailing michael gaydos the good news.

While he's on Marvel's creative team, I'm still encouraged by this. I started a recent thread where I asked if familiarity with the comics was a good thing or a bad thing. While part of that focused on the movies (particularly Dr. Strange and Black Panther), I also was asking about Jessica Jones.

To me, Alias is such a unique story for Marvel (from what I understand of it) that I wouldn't want something to lose that through the inevitable MCU deviations from the comics (which I'm sure will happen) regardless of how good the final product is. Having Brian Michael Bendis show such enthusiasm tells me it'll be true to the spirit of the original.

Yeah the MCU is "close to the real world." What with the talking, gun-toting Space Raccoon, the nerdy scientist who turns into an enormous green rage monster when he gets angry, the Twins with powers that they got from a glowy space rock of near-infinite power, the glowing lava people with their grab-bag of fire powers from IM3, the guy who's head was literally a blood-red skull, etc. Yes totally "real world."

Seriously, all that is fine, but a guy with purple skin is "too weird?" Okkkkk?
Did you write the Honest Trailer for Iron Man 3?

When are we ever going to get any information about a release date or a trailer? I'm so excited for this show! Just want some concrete idea of when it will start!

Netflix shows usually give us a trailer like a month or two before the show is released.

Netflix is notoriously late with trailers. Daredevil was actually fairly early by Netflix standards. That being said, it was late by movie standards. I seemed to recall the motion posters coming out in December or January, so about four months before release. But the trailers were a bit closer to release date.

Yep. I think it was earlier for Netflix because they have Disney/Marvel helping with marketing. Release date announced with the first poster at the beginning January. Teaser was at the beginning of February. Full trailer in March. Posters, pictures, press in between.

The poster/release date should be out in a week or two if they follow DD's pattern. (If they still plan on releasing it this year...)

And they'll probably have a huge presence at NY Comic Con.

I loved the comics, so I'm pumped for this. I would love for DD to have a cameo in this, but I don't think it will happen. Psychological thriller is a neat description.

They MIGHT be able to sneak a surprise "Matt Murdock" cameo in there (maybe just establishing that he's Jessica's lawyer, or simply that they're acquainted with each other). But it'd have to be a small one I think.

Well, Jess, Luke, and Danny's shows should all cross over with each other. I mean, I guess they don't have to, but it seems like they should, and, since the end result is all of them teamed up in Heroes for...er, I mean The Defenders, it makes sense that all three of those shows would cross pollenate at some point. So based on all of that, how can you NOT have a Matt Murdock/Daredevil cameo at some point?

I think to keep the continuity and make the build up to The Defenders work, Matt's going to have to pop up somewhere.
