The Dark Knight Jett suspends all Dent casting rumours.

I agree to a point. The endless rumors are also kind of......eh. IMO many of these genre sites are full of that sort of holier than thou attitude. Jett has also had issues with Latino Review didn't he? Latino Review and their phantom TDK script or treatment. Much of all this is quite silly.

Well, I think Jett is basically just a fanboy with a well-known website who has managed to make himself look pretty silly lately. But I do think he means it when he says he knows something. I also think that (as happens with most fansites of that sort over time) he is at a place where he doesn't want to push too hard on WB as far as what he can and can't post. So he winds up holding back on things he wants to post and he winds up looking goofy and maybe a bit manipulative by being so cryptic.

I don't think he's trying to make anybody mad, and I don't think he's playing with us.

Meanwhile CHUD thinks they're better than everybody and their website is amusing, but I reached the point a couple years ago where I just couldn't take it anymore. They're obnoxious and pretty impressed with themselves. They're the movie site for people who hate movies, or something. LOL.

After what i said recently imposing a moratorium on the Dent Casting, I can confidently announce that the Actor set to portray Harvey Dent/Two Face is none other than fan favorite Gary Coleman of Diff'rent strokes fame. If you remember back in September i tipped gary for the role. This really is BIG news and an Exclusive to BOF. I heard this from my brothers, girlfreinds, sisters, boyfreinds aunties neighbours Gynacologist's son who works at a Warner Brothers Cinema (he over heard it while re-stocking the pick N' mix) remember BOF'ers you heard it here first, no grain of salt required.

Ashton Kutcher has been officially announced to become gotham's new district attorney in Christopher nolan's the dark Knight.

That would really be something out of left field, it woudn't be the first time he plays a "serious disturbed" role

I recently asked myself (concerning Dent's casting), "What's the worst that could happen?"

Well you're a n00b, I can see how you'd think that.

Jett (the BOF guy) had a pretty good track record with "Batman Begins." He's lost a lot of credibility lately because his updates the past few months have largely been "news is coming" type posts. But if you'd been around a few years ago you'd know that Jett doesn't just make stuff up. Jett's website has been around since 1998 and he is a fanboy like all of us here. His problem right now is that he's been posting hints and cryptic remarks that don't qualify as news, and we're all tired of being teased. We want real news or no news.

But Jett DOES have insiders and he does get news, when it's out there. He's just made himself look pretty ridiculous the last few months.

He's many things, but I don't think "liar" is one of them.

the way things are now at BOF, anyone could make a website and compete with him. sure he has the sources, but there is always a guy out there who feels the need to spill the beans. and until you get that guy all you need to do, in regards to casting, is be equally vague in your rumors. how many actors could "aiming high" and "unconventional" be linked with? tons.

People forget that BOF did have the The Dark Knight announcement before anyone. They messed up with the Joker? So what. So did everyone. It seems that WB is very very tight lipped this time with their Batman movie - meaning that probably no one is going to squeal who the name is before it is actually announced (people at WB were confirming the Ledger deal the same day LR had it, so that was not a leak). For a site Batman-On-Film, at this time (with no actual film production, just casting) being done - that is very bad. In order to have any sort of product they have to grab at every bit of batman rumor that comes around - as we have seen.

I have no problem with BOF posting a bunch of rumors that turn out to be wrong. BOF has been around long enough that Jett has made connections with a handful of people who've provided accurate information. And by now, I'm sure certain insiders are getting conflicting information to 1) through people off from who they're actually gunning for and 2) to weed out where the leaks are coming from. What irks me now is that there was a 1st choice, but Jett won't say the name. I have no problem right now with Jett not telling us who this "unconventional" choice is, because he's trying to respect WB's process and not leak out their big casting announcements. However, once that casting decision is made, the barns doors better swing wide open with all the withheld info. Seriously, I'm tired of the partial news. If there is a 1st choice who supposedly passed, say it. If you're not going to say it, don't mention it. This latest cryptic message, that I can deal with and understand. But some of this other stuff is just getting excessive.

Of course he knows casting is coming. We ALL know casting is coming. It doesn't really take inside sources to conclude that "casting in iminent." That's pretty much stating the obvious.

… then yes, because that statement is contrary to Jett’s:

I have imposed a moratorium on Harvey Dent casting rumors until I receive official word...

… which suggests that he IS NOT in possession of such information. If he were, he would have said “I have imposed a moratorium until mm/dd/yy”. Now that's a statement indicative of a known date, but it’s not what Jett said and the most plausible reason for this is that he DOES NOTknow the date.

All the sites got the TDK announcement at the same time from WB. BOF only makes a bigger deal out of it than it really is.

No denying Jett has contacts (then they all do), but he's as much in the dark on this film as the rest of you.
