... and here we were led to believe that only twelve-year old hypers were capable of such boorishness

Quick! SOmebody make a Jett appreciation thread! And then somebody else make a "Jett Sucks!" Thread and we'll fight!

Guys...Josh Hartnett.

After seeing "Lucky Number Slevin" and "The Black Dahlia," I can see it.

mmm....I've never seen Hartnett play a really driven and intense character.

Well you're a n00b, I can see how you'd think that.

Jett (the BOF guy) had a pretty good track record with "Batman Begins." He's lost a lot of credibility lately because his updates the past few months have largely been "news is coming" type posts. But if you'd been around a few years ago you'd know that Jett doesn't just make stuff up. Jett's website has been around since 1998 and he is a fanboy like all of us here. His problem right now is that he's been posting hints and cryptic remarks that don't qualify as news, and we're all tired of being teased. We want real news or no news.

But Jett DOES have insiders and he does get news, when it's out there. He's just made himself look pretty ridiculous the last few months.

He's many things, but I don't think "liar" is one of them.

While he's not a liar by any stretch, BOF has always been like this. Memory is selective and we tend to remember more positive things than not. BOF's "reporting" on things like the costume for BR was all over the board. BOF's "news" has always been heavily based on rumor until it's "officially" released. BOF might be a few minutes ahead of the average website, but that's about it.

Whoever told you that? You've been around this forum long enough to know that's not true. :D

Exactly. Even Jett seems to forget that, although he did get the scoop on Katie and Ken, he was the one who said Bale was out of the running because he wanted to do Bond and that Christopher Eccleston was close to signing on as Scarecrow.

The fact is, unless his sources actually *are* the Nolans or Goyer, he's receiving info that is second or third hand and there's always going to be inaccuracies.

Jett seems like a nice guy and all but he does seem to forget that.

He might, or might not be, a nice guy. I've never met him. One thing I can say from reading his posts is that he listens to too much Jim Rome. L8, rack `em! Or maybe not enough since he often doesn't have a take and does suck. :D

No denying Jett has contacts (then they all do), but he's as much in the dark on this film as the rest of you.

I don't like being teased. :csad:

Jett tends to sensationalize things and toot his site's horn a little loud for my taste, especially considering its track record is no better than any other superhero or movie sites. I like my news sans self-aggrandizing verbal spew. That has been my sole beef for a long time.

Well he's got one other advantage: his site is popular.

He's basically to Batman fandom what Lou Tambone or Scott Chitwood are to Star Wars fandom. Complete with people who hate him and people who don't.

I think Jett gets carried away. But I think he reports whatever he hears either because he thinks it's true, or because he think it MIGHT be true and he figures he ought to share. When he's not sure about stuff he always labels it as rumor. He's good about that. He posts rumors because they *might* be true and he wants us to be able to talk about it. If he stuck to just posting things he knew were true, the updates would be very few and far between. Look at it like this: the Hype! news page only posts things that they know are true. But they cover ALL comic book movies. Jett only covers Batman. If he didn't post rumors, he'd have nothing to post for months at a time.

He's referred to me as an "ass-wipe" and was kind enough to ban me from eZboard for no apparent reason, yet we let him and his staff on our Planet forums.

BOF was a good site pre-Batman Begins. Since then, too much bark for the bite.

I remember when you and Steve (gillberg) were writing a series of Batman scripts. Did you ever get around to writing the last one?

does it bug anyone else that the only negative comments Jett ever replies to in his mailbag are of the "hey jett, you suck dude!" variety? not once have I read him handle a piece of well-balanced criticism, of which I'm sure he gets quite a bit of in his "mailbag" these days

Actually you're thinking of Matt (bat lugosi).

Gill and I have been playing around with another script idea for several years now, though...

Oh yes, it was Matt...it's been so long, my mind lingers...

I'd say move headlong into that idea. An idea is just an idea unless you make it otherwise, and I doubt you'd want it to remain that way forever.
