Dent, Damnit! Author: Jett Thursday, November 9, 2006 - 12:29 PM In regards to the casting of Harvey Dent, it looks as if none of the rumored candidates will end up with the job -- not to say that they were not in the mix. In addition, there are whispers that they are “aiming high” in terms of the actor who will ultimately portray Dent. There is also been some strong indication that the casting of the future Two Face may not be considered “conventional.”

Who might it be?

There's no point to guessing anymore for me; Dent's casting will probably be as much of a suprise as the Joker's.

Just tell me already...DAMNIT!

I'm starting to think Harvey Dent will be played by a cocker spaniel.

It's gonna be Denzel and we all know it. Other names will get mentioned, but Denzel has it in the bag. I can't imagine anyone else.

Not to mention Lee Bajermo(DC Comics artist/WB Concept Artist) did that artist rendition a whiiiiiiiiile back where he maniped Denzel into two-face.

That's what I assume by unconvential and "aiming high" comments, Denzel certainly fits that bill - and it'd be a welcome addition.

My thoughts exactly. Hey, I certainly wouldn't have any problem with it. He's an incredible actor, no doubt!

But who the hell knows... only time will tell.

I posted this in another thread, but I'll post it here too:

it just occurred to me; what if they're trying to woo PACINO!?!?! He's definitely someone to "aim high" at, and unconventional in terms of age for casting Dent . . . also, he's worked w/ Nolan in the past, which Nolan has been quoted as saying he likes to do (when you work with good people, yadda, yadda). . . hmmmmmm

I'm not a big fan of Pacino.

I know people are going to rip me apart, but I honestly think he over acts in lots of his parts.

It works for some characters of his, but sometimes it's just annoying.

Hmmmm, I would have never thought of that.

Isn't Pacino and Denzel too old?

I was under the impression that Bruce and Harvey where at College together?

I understand that it highly possible that Nolan wont do that angle in the film but it's a good angle as it makes Harvey's downfall all the more tragic in Bruce's eyes.

man . . . overacting or not, couldn't you just see him QWN this part? Part John Milton from Devil's Advocate (vanity . . . it's my favorite sin) . . . . part Colonel from Scent of a Woman . . . . now I'm damn near convinced of it myself . . . .

but think of THIS . . . what if they made Harv older, and he was a friend of Bruce's father, even Lucious . . . . hmmmmm?

Even though I think he over acts, you're right, I kinda like the thought of him in the role.

I think people are reading too much into this Dent Casting Saga. Some of the suggestions being made are just ridiculous.

Nolan cast conventional enough actors for the characters in Begins, even Ledger is making sense.

Although the possibility that whoever gets the role may seem unconventional or hard to see at first (i.e. Ledger), I'm sure in the long run it won't be.

^but it's fun to speculate . . . c'mon man!! we've been waiting 2+ months for some gottam news!! any news!!! now that we have a tidbit, just let us have our fun, huh?

so . . . back to this discussion

CHEECH FOR DENT BEEYITCHES!!

(he did say they were 'aiming high' . . . get it? Cheech=high) :D :O

Well I can't and wouldn't stop that.....

So go right ahead! :D:up:

This Dent speculation is really stretching now. It's getting almost as bad as the whole "Hulme vs Bettany" scenario.

The only reason I'm even looking forward to the announcement anymore is because it'll end this.

I'm in agreement with you on this.

Denzel would do an amazing job but he's just too old for me. What is he now like 50? Anyway, if you're aiming high and want someone unconventional, how about Will Smith? He'd definately own that part I think. He hasn't really ever played a "bad guy" before, so he's transformation to Two Face would be all the more dramatic. Plus, he's a damn good actor and has the right build.
