Wonder Woman, Batman and Iris Allen announced!
Date : December 1, 2007 Writer : Clint Morris
A couple of confirmations – finally – for the “Justice League” movie today, with both Batman and Wonder Woman cast. And, scroll down to hear who else has been cast in the movie….
Batman, says IESB, won’t be played by….
D.J Cotrona (rumoured to have snagged the role a couple weeks ago)
But…
Armie Hammer.
He may look the part and have the right statue, but the guy is only 21 years old! What’s with that? I’ve never picked up a Justice League comic book in my life, nor do I remember the cartoon series (I did see “Super Friends” a couple of times – was it the same thing?), but did Batman and his superhero pals form the Justice League so young? I assumed they teamed up after several years of solo adventures – say when they were all in their mid thirties, or something? Am I wrong? This just seems a little too “Sky High” to me…
If you’re not familiar with Hammer, you’re not alone – he’s only appeared in a few things, and even then you’d have to pause his scenes to spot him. He had a blink-and-you’ll-miss-him part in the Alison Lohman starring remake of “Flicka” and apparently played a role in an episode of “Veronica Mars”. All I can say is… he must have a darn good agent, and an aggressive one of that. How else would he have gotten the part?
Wonder Woman, says Aint it Cool, won’t be played by….
Mary Elizabeth Winstead (the favourite, it seems, for the role)
But….
Megan Gale.
Yeah, no surprise on this end – The newspapers and magazines here in Australia have been reporting Gale had the role for weeks now. I think it’s pretty much common knowledge that the supermodel snagged the invisible jet. Interestingly enough, Gale is 31, a whole ten years older than the guy they’ve just cast as Batman… seem a little off to you, too? Besides modelling, Gale is most famous for her long running feud with fellow model, Jennifer Hawkins.
And may I add a third cast member to the list…
Zoe Kazan.
Zoe’s been rumoured for a couple of weeks now as Iris Allen, other half of Barry Allen/The Flash.
I had a chat to Kazan earlier today who confirmed the news. But isn’t able to say anything more than that at this stage. If you’ve seen the recent “Fracture” with Tony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling, she’s the lass who played Mona.
Here’s Zoe’s piccie…
