JL Casting Call Update

I am not asking you to be excited (I actually am not looking for your approval, believe it or not). I was just trying to confirm a bit more info for people still doubting that that was the actual cast list. (Not everyone lives in here, you know.)

And if you didn't notice then I didn't say the entire imdb cast list was right.

I think you're just rude because you're an obnoxious fanboy who spends way too much time here.

I didn't realize, "uh huh" was that rude, but I guess I need to check again.

My point is nothing on IMDB really means tht much. It's run by users for the most part.

I spend alot of time here because I have a job that gives me the luxury to do so, and I am far from obnoxious. Jokes on you buddy.

This is incredibly frustrating- but I'll repeat myself so that you might finally comprehend- I was told that the cast list on IMDB was correct except for Porter. I was using that list as a reference point. I know it's filled in by users, but the list on there is what most people following JL know to be the main rumoured cast list- Hammer, Gale, Brody, Common etc. But it also says Porter. Which is incorrect. What's so hard to understand about that?

Apparently you're not getting it, IMDB shouldn't be used as reference, Scott Porter was not on any cast list BESIDES IMDB. Thanks for trying to clear it up so I can understand though. It made it so much easier for me. :cwink:

You're comprehending it all wrong. The person I was talking to- who I had no reason to doubt, in terms on working on some of the pre-production, which is now kaput- wouldn't give me any info. on the cast when I asked and told me to look on the IMDb for the cast list. I said I didn't believe that list, then they relented and told me it was correct EXCEPT for Porter.

I'm not relying on the IMDb. I know it's just a list sent in by users, but if you look at it, it's the nearly the same list as what was posted here on SHH- Hammer, Gale etc. (but they listed Porter instead of Cotrona).

We're arguing in circles here because...I don't know why...you're focusing on the wrong thing.

They should just go forward with their Teen Titans movie.

well its the same problem. they need writers and JL is further ahead than TT by far.

Problem is people want bale and routh/welling. That is not going to happen. We need to be open minded about choices of casting because we know nothing about these guys in the roles. It seems to be a young Justice league giving some room for sequels, newbies are more appropriate than established stars especially at that age.

How do you know that a JLA film with Bale or Routh is not going to happene??

Bale has said before that he would want to do a JLA film if the script and TIMING was right.

Good actors take pay cuts all the time to be a well written ensemble film.

WB's should concentrate on getting a GREAT JLA film released by 2011 or 2012.

Look, with all the reaction the George Miller cast/concept had, probably, Warner will go back and hire David Slade, the fist director off the Movie.

I dunno but Megan Gale seemed to not get the message that this movie is canceled...

She will step off the catwalk for the last time on February 27 at the David Jones Melbourne Winter 2008 Collections launch and into intense training for her upcoming role as Wonder Woman in George Miller’s film Justice League of America.

“Wonder Woman is no wallflower, she’s one of the most powerful women in the universe,” Gale says.

It shouldn't be about the newspaper, all they can do is quote the girl... All she said is she is about to quit her runway model show, and start training for the movie...

the film hasnt been dropped fully yet, we wont really know untill the strike is resolved. Yes she plus other castmates may or may not still be in it in a few months and same as miller.

Yeah, until other this movie is just delayed/put off...

Miller may very well not come back, but the WB may keep some of the cast... those people may be Gale and Brody... I don't know about Common...

I think thats why some of them haven't come out and said "Im batman or Im superman"

The movie is going to get a hole new storyline and cast.

Maybe they bring back Gale and Common and cast Routh and Bale, with a GOOD storyline. The other ones are easy to get.

But a JLA film does not need Christian Bale or Brandon Routh to be great. A great movie can be made with anyone at any time. They're nothing more than two actors and certainly not the only two good enough two play Batman and Superman. And waiting another 3 or 4 years will chance NOTHING, it dosn't guarantee better or worse actors, it dosn't guarantee a better or worse script, it dosn't guarantee better or worse FILM. But what most likely does are actors and versions of the characters they play that are especially chosen to fit the needs of a Justice League flick instead of of solo-movie about Batman or Superman.

IMO.

I really like Nolan's view of Batman I personally would love to see him give his version of Superman with Brandon Routh and then do JL

It would be wicked, showing a mature, reallistic Superman and a credule Batman, living in a urban livestyle, discoverind the secrets of Magic and alien technology.

Yeah I'd like to see Nolan do Supes as well, then a Batman versus Supes. JLA.........the timing just isn't right.

Wow, some of you guys are crazy.

Nolan for Superman? And you want realism in a Superman movie? He's said he wouldn't know what to do with Robin in a Batman movie, and that Penguin is too out there for him, and you want him to do a movie about Superman?

Jesus Christ, talk about fanboys.:down

The Penguin too out there? But he does know that the Danny DeVito version from Batman Returns isn't exactly the character from the comics, dosn't he?

I have to agree, Nolan for Superman would be pretty awful. I mean, you just have to look at how he translated Ras al Ghul from the source martial and you can properbly imagine what he'd do to Kal-El. Apart from this, i'm pretty sure he wouldn't be interested in doing Big Blue anyway...

I agree. The last thing I want in a Superman film is realism.

That was one of the biggest fanboy complaints about Superman Returns.

Some fans thought the tone of the film was too dark and real-world for Superman and they prefered a more comicbook-drivien popcorn Spider-Man approach.

While I personally liked the realism, I can't see the realism concept being done any further with Superman than what Bryan did without going off track for the character.

Its a difficult character to translate from comic to live action.

Superman is easy to translate to live action if they don't try to put him in the real world like Batman. I prefer comic book movies to be larger than life. It's a fantasy world and it should stay like that.

Of course they also have to be really good. :yay:
