Adam Brody's News Flash
The O.C. star talks about his potential Justice League preparation.
by Todd Gilchrist
May 13, 2008 - Adam Brody, costar of the upcoming horror film Jennifer's Body, told IGN that he went through a extended preproduction process on Justice League before the film was eventually shelved. "It was an interesting process," Brody said during an interview for his new film, which costars Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried. "It was such a fun time, and I went to Australia for a month and that was great."
Brody, who previously appeared on the television series The O.C., signed on to Justice League to play The Flash for director George Miller (Happy Feet). He admitted that he didn't even know the status of the project, but said that the production was surprisingly unrestrained in terms of revealing - or at least not hiding - details about the characters and script.
"I don't know what's going on with it. Do you?" he joked. "That was an interesting process, and I was always – I always felt so excited, like 'I got the part! Now they're going to take me to the secret bunker in Warner Brothers and debrief us, so nobody can talk about [anything]. It's going to be so official.' But it sort of wasn't, and it didn't feel official, like stuff leaked out, and we're doing stuff like this but we're not supposed to talk about what's going on."
While Brody admitted he probably shouldn't be offering details about the film, he confessed that he did undergo a month long preproduction session in Australia to prepare for playing the comic book character. "I would be really remiss to talk about any of this except for the same reason – nobody said I couldn't," he admitted. "We went to Australia and did like a mini sort of workshop – superhero boot camp, which was superfun and really surreal, because you're sitting at a roundtable like this and someone's like, 'well, Batman wouldn't say that!' And someone's like, 'yeah, but the thing about Superman is…'
"It was so funny because George Miller, he has such respect for actors, probably more than I do, and so it was really fun," Brody continued. "You've got this like $200 million action picture but then you've got this true artist so you're dealing with this like superhero theater camp. Really, really interesting – I had a blast."
Even though Brody offered only a short description of the film's plot, he said that overall security was surprisingly lax when time came to keeping scripts and story information under wraps. "The plot is sort of the forming of the Justice League," he said, perhaps confirming the obvious. "[But] I keep waiting, like 'does anybody want [this script]? We can just take our scripts wherever?' I was like, 'you don't want to keep these?' I was encouraging the cast, like we should not keep these even in our hotel rooms, maybe."
As of the publishing of this article, the fate of Justice League has yet to be determined. But stay tuned to IGN for more news, information and updates on this and other exciting new projects!

Armie looks good in navy (and marine blue, etc.)
We did our first fitting for the Billy Graham movie yesterday.
Holy stuff! I am beat. Armie Hammer - aka Billy (this is him, hamming it up in my living room yesterday afternoon) - has about 60 changes throughout the movie, spanning 15 years. Shannan and I, along with tailor extraordinaire Pam Lisenby, spent a solid four hours futzing with several dozen suits and even more shirts, pants and jackets for our man Armie, an amazing sport with a lovely sense of humor and what I feel is very sincere charm and attentiveness to people and clothes (of course) to spare. This is the first of several fittings and if they all go as well as yesterday, were in for a treat.
Right after him, Steffani Butler - aka Ruth Graham, Billys wife - came in for her much less-intense fitting. Every single thing that darling girl tried on fit like a glove! Our alterations bill for her is going to be peanuts. God, shes cute - and nice, too! A hugger. I like that, as Im a hugger too.
Armies fitting was a bit more, how you say? Worrisome. Darling boy is TALL - 6′5 - with some long-ass arms and big-ass feet (size 15). Currently, were scrambling to dig up shirts big enough to fit him with period-appropriate collars. Its much harder than it may sound like, as folks were seriously smaller back then. I mean, we pulled the majority of Armies suits from the largest costume dealer in the country and the one responsible for thousands of period movies over the last 100 years. We grabbed everything and anything we thought might work on his fram: 44 super long jacket and 36/36 pants. There were two out of probably four dozen pairs of pants that fit without major seam-lettings at the ankles and wrists. Judging from this, this means our boy obviously ate his veggies growing up; it also means the old thing about how movie stars are so much smaller off-screen is absolutely true. Big sizes in those joints are hard to come by.
Wonderful Pam is going to have her hands full with us I think! Thanks in advance, Pam, for being so much fun to work with and to be around, in general. A team of nice, able folks makes work so much more enjoyable.
why is that?
um ok. well, this is the JL casting thread and he was cast in the movie... so yea.
In his next movie, Warner Bros.' "Justice League," Hammer -- 6 feet 4, with chiseled movie star looks -- is set to play Batman.
Elisha can act. It's just she's nowhere near skilled enough for Black Canary.that ruined your whole cast list.
Elisha Cuthbert CANNOT act!
I've been impressed with this guy's looks lately. He definitely has the bodily presence, but I was always iffy on his youth. He seems to be outgrowing that day by day.In depth article on Armie Hammer's movie "Billy: The Early Years", scheduled for release on Oct. 15, can be found at the link below. Only a brief mention of JL was made.
