haha

Well with that said couldn't Superman start bombarding him with frontal attacks, distracting Magneto while MM gets into his field of range?

Also how could Magneto defeat superman? I don't know how that would work
Just like Polaris draw all the yellow sun radiation out of him and bend those waves around him so he can't absorb more

Well that is assuming Magneto knows how superman gets his powers

I've always loved Molecule Man. He's just some poor pathetic schmuck who became the most powerful human being on Earth and couldn't cope with it. Great character.
Yeah. Stood up to the Beyonder to boot. He was great.

The real most powerful silver age villain

Sequence of events:
Teams arrive...

.0000001 seconds later, Flash quietly eats his Subway Club sandwich as he stands over the unconscious bodies of all the X-Men.

JLA shows up and Batman asks Flash why the hell he didn't have sandwiches for everyone.

No, what would happen is that about .5 seconds into the fight the X-Men would wonder what the gore was that was splattering off the force field that Magneto and Phoenix had up.

Totally. I mean, it's not like the Flash has easily made it through force fields before.

Totally. I mean, it's not like the Flash has easily made it through force fields before.

It depends on the permeability of the field...if it allows oxygen through, then he could phase through it. If it's completely solid so as to permit nothing through, then yes, he'd be nothing but a stain.

He does however have the capability to enter different dimensions so it could be feasible that he enters dimension A and reenters the current dimension within the boundaries of the field.

**With all the above occurring before the X-Men can process a thought.

I haven't read alot of Flash storylines and I'm not particularly fond of the character, but I think he's probably the most dangerous of the JLA outside of possibly MM...and Supes if he really cut loose without inhibitions.

I've read graphic novels with just him turning into pure energy, well at lest i think I read them. Oh well point being he has done some really crazy stuff

Ya it seems like a cope out at times with how flash could get out of situations, but hey still cool in my book

I hate the character, partly becuase he's too damn powerful.

Most DC characters I have always felt were like that. But I like DC cause I feel like there is deeper history with them. Oh well I guess the same could be said about Marvel.
But my bias is preventing Phoenix to defeat the JLA. Though supporting evidence contradicts my belief

In less than a 10000th of a second, flash can basically take out all the X-men, which really does suck in my mind.

If we exclude flash, superman can kick most of their asses on his own.

Avengers are a much better match really.

Depends on who's on each team, just like whether the JSA is more formidable than the JLA depends on who's on each team.

I'd say people should really start stating particular rosters when they do these versus things but it probably wouldn't stop people arguing whatever they wanted to argue anyway.

Well, the guy who started it specified that the X-Men had "Jean Grey (with the Phoenix)." That's why everybody's been saying the X-Men would win. That's the only reason, really. Magneto's their next best on the thread starter's roster, and he's powerful but clearly not unbeatable.

jean grey is just one trump card. and since when does one trump card win a game?

The Spectre is not invincible. Hal as Parallax defeated the Spectre in head on battle. Phoenix is at least as powerful, and I personally think, much more powerful. The power of the Phantom Stranger is variable. Sometimes he is very powerful and sometimes essentially powerless.

Poor writing. I don't recall the issue, but i'm sure it was poor writting having Hal beat The Spectre

Considering that Magneto once shielded himself from a frontal attack from Galactus, Superman, or his heat vision, wouldn't breech Magneto's shielding.

And superspeed doesn't do you much good stuck in one place.

Sweet Jesus, do you really believe that Galactus can not breach magneto's shield? You're talking about one of the most powerful cosmic beings in the MU. A being who can give a man like Norrin Radd titanic power(The SS can beat Mags by the way), but can't breach a magnetic shild from a mutated human whom he could strip of his powers or scatter his atoms or turn him into a lump of rubber. A being who can eat planets including the Magnetic fields and EM fields that are connected to it can not breach a sheild from the same planet that was created by a human who is drawing power from or manipulating it?? Galactus destroyed a couple of star systems in that Annihilation Wave which included multiple planets and Suns with ease, but yet he can't breach magneto's shield? Again roll eyes.

JEan Grey as phoenix can't beat Galactus. I don't care how many say that the Phoenix is as powerful as Galactus. Why would some human female , who's only lived for about 20 something years be able to out smart and out think a being who has lived before this universe even came to be and with God like power? Where would she get the expierence? Now i can buy if the Phoenix entity is in control maybe, but now Marvel has recton that the Phoenix isn't a separate entity now and it's been Jean grey all along. Dear Lord in heaven give me a d@mn break.

I didn't read whatever issue that was in, but I'm certain it was poor storytelling. We are supposed to be comic fans here and we all know the powers of these characters. At times certain writers include stupid crap like Magneto being able to hold off Galactus or Phoenix is more powerul then GOD, Jesus and anything else in Heaven. When I read outrageous stuff i just roll my eyes, and say this is where the editorial dept should have stepped in.

When that trump card can eat your whole frickin universe and ask for seconds.

Well how in the world did that Magneto imposter even kill her with that planetary magnetic pulse, when that amount of energy is so tiny, not even a speck dust that can be registered compared to energy of the universe???? Just wanna know.

Agreed!! The entire xmen team have a hard time taking down Juggs, so supes would be no different.
