Comics JMS off Amazing

According to a poster over at Newsarama the new Wizard states that JMS is off Spider-Man after this summer.

Does anyone have the new Wizard to confrim this? Also could this be Loeb and Campbell's Spider-Man project?
If this is true, then DUH! I said this a few weeks ago, and i'm sure many have said it before me.

I'm mean, seriously, why else would JMS and Joey Q be doing a mini series instead of doing their story in the main book? Of course, this is only if it's true.

He should've been off right after the Book of Ezekiel... that way people woudn't have remembered him as the worst writer in the history of Spider-Man . I think he has potential, but as of late he hasn't been too good. But If it's confirmed that this'll be Jeph Loeb's project (an ongoing) I will streak through my streets in happiness.

...can you tape that?

Nah, I'll pass on that.... I'd have to be paid some serious moola as it is pretty chilly here.

I heard this rumor a couple months ago.

If Loeb (who actually likes and understands the character) is the new author and if Spidey wakes up before the entire Strazinsky run begins and says to MJ "I just had the strangest dream where I was totally not acting like myself," and if we get the ol' gang back (supporting cast) then I might start buying the title again.

If they throw in a splash page of JMS choking to death on his own tongue, I'll buy 2 copies of each issue for Loeb's entire run.

You're both sad... really

No thank you. I already know I went out of line once. Once is enough... for now

Sorry, kiddo, but this is an opinion board. That pretty much insures sometimes coming into contact with opinions not like your own. You may love or hate JMS and I'll respect your opinion on that either way.

I, personally, think that someone raping the character I've read about since I was nine ( which was, unfortunatly, a loooong time ago) deserves a lil' disrespect.

If you are a Spidey fan, try Gerry Conway's Spidey, then juxtapose it with JMS's. I truly believe you'll find a LARGE disparity there regarding respect for the character (where he's coming fron... who he is...) that will flat leave you with a bad taste in your mouth. I may be wrong... but try it and tell me what you think.

I'm not going against your opinion, i'm just saying that you guys go too far sometimes.

Well he had to come off eventually and most had speculated that next summer would be when it would happen, so I can't say I am surprised.

Too bad it could not have been 3 years earlier, after #508 would have been the best time.
That way I would not have had to endure the s-hittest (so far) 2 and a half year run on any Spider-title ever. Dissonant to the themes of continuity & correct characterization.
I don't care who comes on next, though obviously if it's the Loeb/JSC combo that would be
nice. The day a new issue of ASM comes out next year that does not has JMS' name attached to it I will damn well near s-hit my self w/ excitement and be the happiest ever fanboy this side of the pond.

At last the flagship Spider-title will be ready for resuscitation.
For me the best thing would be for the new writer to start by undoing the most damaging things that JMS has done (SP & unmasking) in a really dismissive way.
Maybe it was just Mysterio creating a massive illusion for SP and for the unmasking Spidey was transported to an alternate dimension.
Works for me.

SP really needs to be ret con’d as does the unmasking.
After that I would like that Spidey’s powers are returned normal level, (tho this is not as important as the first two) as far as I can make out all his 'enhanced' powers have accounted for is him becoming a ***** both physically and mentally.

The question is, will the new writer give enough of a damn to rectify these ills?
Unmasking- probably though I think this might get fixed sooner, as for poor Gwendy .. ARGGHH
That needs to be *****ing un-done.

Anyway, JMS off ASM= Il throw a goddamned party.

That is incredibly noble for a 19 year-old to take that position. I can't tell you what I was doing at 19...

Well, if this is true, all I can say is.....

LET THE CELEBRATIONS BEGIN!

And I agree with some other posters. JMS should have left the title after the Book of Ezekiel arc. That way we wouldn't have had to put up with crap like [blackout]Sins Past[/blackout] or the Other or the apparent lack of editoral consistancy plaguing the book all through Civil War. Of course, JMS has always, always, ALWAYS had a history of starting big but ending on a medicore or half-hearted note when he should've ended sooner. Felt that way about Babylon 5, Crusade, Rising Stars, etc. Clearly, with Amazing Spider-Man, he was falling into the same routine and running out of gas.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, Jeph Loeb or Dan Slott or whoever replaces JMS can't get on the book fast enough. Just so long as they don't bring back Howard Mackie.

I won't even touch the stuff. Had it once for new years eve 2004, wasn't a big deal to me, I don't need it. Just like I don't smoke, Tried it once for my 18th birthday. I don't need it. Everyone in my family either smokes or drinks or both. My addiction is comicbooks.
:woot:

Although it's not that funny, I'm w/ you on that one.
I don't smoke or drink either, I prefare to be healthy.
